Charlie Kirk Shot and killed

We will see I guess.
I think you are UNDERestimating just how much the Kirk assassination (and the democrats clumsy response) made „normal“ Republicans lose any desire to ever find middle ground or work with democrats ever again.
Something fundamental has changed in the Republican tent and I don’t think people realize just how united Republicans are right now.
Heck, Elon and Trump even patched things up tonight.
And believe me when I say that JD Vance will have a MUCH broader appeal than Trump had ever had.
The democrats are going to have to moderate their AOC/Omar wing and do it quickly if they want to have any chance post Trump.

Quite a disparity between 1) the widow forgiving the assailant versus 2) Trump saying he hates his opponents and using the opportunity, not to call for unity and for tolerance of each other's opposing views, but to stoke the flames of division even more, bask in the large crowd, tout his autism "science," and sell some crypto and hats.

Pal, I have good news and bad news.

The good news is that you retired at what might be the best time any man has retired.

The bad news is that everyone's ship is sinking and most of us don't realize it.
Mine is doing fine. I planned for this day for at least 25 years. The only thing for certain is that all of us will die. That's it. And truth be told, none of these jackass politicians really affect my life all that much. IF the leftists get back in power I might have to pay more in taxes, but I am working around that too.

You also overestimate the influence Trump has over the next generation conservatives. Yes they appreciate him; especially for battling the left unapologetically. But I think they are increasingly viewing him more and more like the outspoken slightly off kilter uncle who shows up at Christmas. They smile and nod at his stories. But Trump is literally a lame duck. I think you need to focus on were the speeches of people like JD Vance. He comes across as much more balanced and frankly more likeable.
Democrats have to quit fixating on Trump. The real danger is on the horizon and it could be generational.
QUIT. BEING. CRAZY.
Return to common sense progressive economics and focus on the middle class. Put down the socialist vape pen and get serious about crime. That is the path back.
Become a party that is FOR something again; not just defined by a single person they are AGAINST.

"As long as it's not me."

Notice who CNN trotted out on the day of Kirk's memorial for their lies and flame stoking:

-- Jasmine Crockett hours prior to the memorial service goes on CNN to slander Charlie Kirk as a racist and call Trump Hitler.

-- Chuck Schumer fanning he flames of political violence

-- Omar: I'm only seeing people being fired for sharing Kirk's words and his wife sat by him as he said bad things.

-- AOC: We should be clear about who Charlie Kirk was. A man who believed that the CRA that granted black Americans the right to vote was a mistake…

So you think that was working? Our society was so much more violent when those places were still running.
I think a lot of people who claim mental illness just use it as excuse so they dont have to take responsibility for their actions. I think you would see who actually have issues and those just claiming issues.

If they were to primary right now, I would struggle between Vance and Rubio. Rubio is showing much more prepared and matured public presence ability than in his 2016 campaign. He's in a better position right now to run as Rubio right now. As VP, Vance is more obligated to run with alot of Trump invoking, and will have a hard time running as "This is Vance." I like both equally at the moment.

A lot of people? You mean people accused of crimes?

There are all kinds of mental illness and institutionalization is not good for most cases.

In my opinion.........................I'm confident that he is not.

I'm simply curious, what percentage of trumpers actually consider him to be a religious man?

My guess would be about 70%.
Religious or Faithful? Every sitting president has always claimed to be "religious" during their campaign.

No more or no less than Bidens Devout Catholic claims, however.

That was my point. I still see a divide between the Trump clan and the GOP, on the whole.

Agree with you on your last few sentences, except I am not a Dem.

No one's ever accused Trump of being a unifier. He has a lot of skills. That's not one of them. To be fair Biden and Obama weren't unifiers either

The speeches I saw yesterday were really good. They should have left Donald off the ticket
Agreed. Trump opened very well and on point for the occasion. And also closed in proper context and fashion. In between he sounded like he was stumping and it had no place there yeaterday. Seems the crowd was disengaing by the level of applause during the wandering in the desert segment, and he didn't notice. Also went way too long. Also though it would have been more appropriate to the occasion for the widow to have last say. Maybe it was her say for him to go last, but for me and who I am, if I were POTUS I would have yeilded to the widow regardless.

Also strange...I saw no sign of the 1st Lady & Odd event for him and Elon to chat and shake hands.

Top 3 for me were Gabbard, Rubio, Vance in no particular order (other than Erika). I struggled speaking at my mom and dads funeral. Couldn't imagine doing what she did.

I was watching at my parents house, about halfway through they went outside during Trumps speech, he started campaigning in the middle of it.
I think the problem with Trump, someone shouldve written a speech for him, told him you have 10 minutes and got him out of there. Instead they let him Ad Lib and he cant help himself but to do what he does.

Mid terms. That would be enough to send him into remission.
I think the dems will be lucky not to lose half hte seats they got coming up in this mid-term. We shall see. They are in real trouble. No one buys that preKirk memorial rhetoric they were spewing. That kind of indignation & disrespect will be noticed.

The quiet Dems are the 95 that voted yes on the Kirk honoring thingy. The 48 that didn't vote one way or the other will not help. The vocal haters on that side of the aisle will cost some good dems their jobs.
