Charlie Kirk Shot and killed

Democrats continue forward with their repugnant actions related to Kirk's assassination ...

From the article:

Some Democrats claim to want “unity” in the wake of the far-left political violence they fomented, but it is hard to believe they want anything other than to be absolved of responsibility when 118 of them in the House refuse to officially condemn the assassination of Charlie Kirk.

As has been proven time and time again, Democrats do revel in political violence — and, at least with their votes, they are saying that out loud.

The stratified voting stands in stark contrast to a similar resolution earlier this year condemning the killing of Minnesota Speaker of the House Melissa Hortman, which passed unanimously. It had similar language condemning political violence generally, but of course, Democrats are wont to condemn political violence when it is another Democrat who suffers it — not when a conservative does.

Your position is for open borders?

Your position is for the church to run the government?

Jesus said to obey the laws of your government. We have an immigration law that states you must seek asylum, apply for citizenship, or seek Visas. Should the process be easier? Absolutely. Should someone be allowed to enter the country illegally? Absolutely not.

The Church (Christians) should feed the hungry and clothed the poor (including immigrants) as Jesus commanded, not the government.
My position is that Kirk's admitted lack of love empathy for immigrants is antithetical to the teachings of Christ.

Which the post I responded to demanded "proof" that Kirk's beliefs were at odds with his professed faith.

My uncle was San Diego PD for a long time and he said that it was against there training. What happened to George Floyd was unacceptable but the reactions were bad too... looting stores that had nothing to do with the event did not bring justice to George Floyd.

I think you’re barking up the wrong tree.

I said Chauvin was at fault for Floyd’s death.

I have never ever said that riots, burning down cities, looting businesses or murdering innocent people was acceptable. In fact at a time most of the country was outraged and real talks could have taken place but instead the left riots turned the tide back from any real talks about police reform.

Andrew Kolvet is the spokesperson for Turning Point USA, and the producer of Charlie Kirk's show.

My point is your statement of the right cannonizing him would be like me saying Jasmine Crockett's recent comments are a declaration of war against the right

Being Hyperbolic about Hyperbolic comments.

You can have empathy for any criminal but it doesn’t mean they should get a free pass. Have you preached your knowledge of faith to homosexuals and transsexuals? I guess you didn’t see the first time I asked.

Are you referring to the out of context quote that you posted, merely claiming that Chalie hates the word 'empathy', but continued that it's because he's not sure we can expect people to actually feel the pain of others. So, he prefers the word/concept of 'sympathy'?

I agree by the way. Christians should be able to feel for others whether we can feel their pain or not. There is nothing wrong with sympathy, you know. You should try it some time.

And it's possible for us to feel sympathy for the plight of others without blindly letting everyone in the world into our country. If we want to stay healthy enough to help others, we have to put on our own oxygen mask--i.e. we have to make sure we stay healthy to remain in a position to be of service to our own citizens, as well as others.

Now, with that said, can you quote ANYWHERE that Charlie said that he doesn't love immigrants?

Or we can look at the full quote and not be lazy.

Full quote from Charlie Kirk "I can't STAND the word empathy, actually. I think empathy is a made-up, new-age term, and it does a lot of damage. I much prefer the word compassion, and I much prefer the word sympathy. Empathy is where you try to feel someone's pain and sorrows as if they're your own. compassion allows for understanding." -Charlie Kirk

Compassion is Christ like.

Lol, you claim no one is deifying Kirk while his spokesperson is literally attributing miraculous properties to Kirk's bones, and when confronted with that reality, your response is to deflect to Jasmine Crockett.

Interesting, thanks for sharing that. Guess time will tell how Kirk's legacy plays out and of course this is somewhat different since Wellstone dided in a small plane crash whereas Kirk was murdered, apparently politically motivated.
It's going to be a political event. Unity will not be found. I agree with others who say it has never been this bad in modern politics. But I disagree in both the way and why it is at Its worst.

Again, being hyperbolic about hyperbolic statements.

I didn't deflect, I used an example of someone making hyperbolic statement and returned an example of hyperbole in response.

The Doctor said Kirk had strong bones that stopped the bullet. The Turning Point guy is just repeating what the Doctor said. Maybe the Turning Point believes it was a miracle from the Lord. You twist stuff so bad.

What's interesting is that, primarily the only time immigration is really mentioned in the Bible is ancient Israel. Foreigners could come live within Israel, but they were held to strict legal standards. I say, "what's interesting" is that even Israelites could lose their citizenship if they refused to abide Jewish national culture and identity.

I'm pretty convinced that none of the liberals here trying to use this misguided argument to bully Christians really want us to start pushing for ancient Israel's laws to become a modern theocracy.

Unfortunately the left are so indoctrinated that any time someone feeds them silage they believe it without question.

It's truly funny considering that you accused me of intentionally misquoting the doctor earlier, and now you want to wax poetic and attribute your own speculation as to what he meant; classic.

In what way, and why?
I haven't looked into this in any way so take what I am sharing as a "rough draft" of gut feelings.
The way: we are at our most divisive anonymously. Keyboards, devices, avatars, platform names, masks, even undisclosed places of residence for those showing their faces on videos allow for boldness. The boldness gives a sense of protection against retribution. And that fosters comfort to share very extreme ideas. None of these are new. But they are available to more people with broader reach than ever before.
The why: the internet and social media especially monetized social media. Everyone on a platform is competing for exposure. Outrageous, antagonistic rage bait offers an accelerated path to views, clicks, engagement, and money. The positive reinforcement from the increase practically guarantees more of it. The need to incrementally expand the vitriol is inherent because people are desensitized over time. The platforms monetize the product. The product is the users. The algorithms ensure a steady stream of content users like. Thus the spiral down the sewer drain is almost inescapable. The most impressionable cannot separate monetized content from needed societal change via any means required.
