Charlie Kirk Shot and killed

Family is important - that's an understatement.

If you continue to believe the debate is not important enough to warrant its own thread.....then I will understand.
You can title the thread OC's philosophical/religious debate.
Or not.
Headed to ATL
If we merely contained it to one thread, you would get free reign to make absurd claims and calls everywhere else, without having them challenged in context. I'm sure that's not what you're negotiating for, right? I'm sure that you are confident enough in your position to discuss it as requested. Yes?

I watched a video by a guy that was with Charlie when he was assassinated. He rode to the hospital with and gave Charlie CPR. He said his pupils were fixed and dilated. Deep down he knew Charlie was already gone. A surgeon at the hospital told him Charlie died instantly.

As to the round that hit Charlie, lot's of factors go into wound channels and damage. One is the bullet type. There are all kinds of bullet types. 30-06 is a popular hunting round so there are designed for maximum destruction in order to make humane kill while hunting. Some are for just target shooting and are usually much less expensive. FMJ falls into this category. Those rounds typically won't do as much damage as more sophisticated hunting rounds.

100%. And the shot they showed didn’t look like was 150 yards either which obviously further decreases the energy on impact.

Damn you for making me go down that rabbit hole. But since I'm there, maybe a person more knowledgeable can shed some light.

When Kirk got shot, immediately it appeared to me he was gone. It reminded me of someone getting knocked out. In other words, the brain was damaged. Can a shot to the neck, nowhere near the stem (and keep in mind the shooter was at an elevated position so the trajectory from the "entry wound" would be downward) have enough force to cause a knockout effect?

I've seen/heard audio from multiple different sources, and it definitely sounds like a 30-06 cannon boom, but the small (for a large caliber) entry wound with no exit wound doesn't match the apparent force needed to accomplish that. What everyone calling the entry wound actually being the exit wound and the true entry wound being somewhere near behind his right ear sure does seem to be more in line with how it appeared his body reacted.

I’m ashamed to have clicked on the lick. The people dumber than the man making the video are the people watching his videos.

“A cop with 20 years experience said it sounded like a handgun!”

That cop was 142 yards away from the shot.

An armed man who claimed to be connected to law enforcement was detained Friday at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona, the Secret Service told Fox News Digital.
The NFL stadium will host Charlie Kirk’s memorial service on Sunday, Sept. 21.
"The U.S. Secret Service in coordination with local law enforcement in Glendale, Arizona, is investigating an individual who was observed exhibiting suspicious behavior at State Farm Stadium," Secret Service spokesperson Anthony Guglielmi told Fox News Digital on Saturday.
"The individual was approached by Secret Service and stated during the encounter that he was a member of law enforcement and that he was armed. The individual is not a member of authorized law enforcement working the event and is currently in custody," Guglielmi added.
The individual, who has not been publicly identified, actually was armed, Guglielmi confirmed to Fox News Digital.
"The U.S. Secret Service and local law enforcement are investigating the circumstances as to why he was at the location," he also said.
"This guy is a former deputy sheriff out of Idaho. He came and identified himself with expired credentials. They are going through his background and trying to figure out what he was up to there," a federal source familiar with the investigation told Fox News.
President Donald Trump and Vice President JD Vance are among the speakers set to honor Kirk on Sunday at the event.
Fox News' Matt Finn contributed to this report.

While I can't definitively say, just listening from various angles (ones that don't show the killing but were bloggers interviewing people and such) it had a very loud boom similar to what a 30-06 would have. Wasn't a handgun i can at least say that. A handgun in that situation would have garnered enough attention from those nearby and that story just isn't there. If a handgun was used, it had a silencer on it and was a secondary option for when the patsy missed his shot. In that scenario, we'll never know the truth.

don't you be draggin me into your lovers quarrels!
By The way:

I'm not saying we have to discuss Christianity every time--or ever, for that matter.

But if someone comes in making moral judgments, claims and social demands, would you not consider it open game to deconstruct and debate them, right here in the politics forum, in the thread they made the argument?

I'd hope that folks will notice that all I did was start interacting with Luther about his own comments. I did not try to enforce mine, or even share mine, until he made it painfully obvious that we could not continue the conversation until I did.

That’s my issue though. To any reasonable person they’ll admit “from 142 yards away, even a ballistics expert would have issues identifying the type of gun fired”. Losers like this YouTuber take those statements and run with them.

“A cop with 20 years on the force said it sounded like a handgun!”

We already know the truth

The Republicans are putting on a political master-class right now, IMHO. The Dems are committing political suicide right now, IMHO.

Force a vote where the Democrats refuse to condemn political violence? Ouch.
Dems celebrating gun violence instead of gun control. Bad look for the party of compassion.

You believe that bouncers care about hurting someone? 😂 😂
It depends, most of the time you realized they were just over served with liquid courage.

I'll admit, there were some guys you knew were just grade A a-holes. I've opened a few bar doors with their foreheads while throwing them out.
