That or everyone has a bachelor’s degree in liberal arts so the graduate problems are extremely competitive and Voila! You have a useless degree and debt up to your eyeballs“Vast majority” is a bit strong. Just depends on the degree. If you were in some kind of HHS program, more than likely you use your degree daily. If you were in some kind liberal arts program, you probably don’t use it. Some of this is because of barriers to entry as well, like graduate degrees that are never obtained after undergrad.
Interesting you say that. Got my MBA. Went back to my hometown and went into management in the cotton mills. WEnt to see a particular plant manager 3 times. Back then you could show up, fill out an app, leave your resume, and go back and pester the crap out of them. (1990). His exact words were HE DIDN'T HIRE ME BECAUSE I have an MBA, he hired me because HAVING my MBA demonstrated to him I knew how to work for something, and I came back and sat in the hallway to wait on him 3 times proved to him I would be persistent and that's all he need to know from me.I'll bet that more are doing something other than what their degree was though. In the vast majority of college degrees, all it means is that you are trainable.
Change my mind
Trade school? It’s free in Tennessee and a lot of times you have a job/apprenticeship after two years.. and super in demand.. minimal indoctrination.. they are all business, not a lot of shooting the sh!t lolIt’s around 50%
Only 20% of service members retire from the military, over 6k vets commit suicide every year
If I want my child to avoid the indoctrination from college why on earth would I advise them to join the military? Talk about an oxymoron
Deal with the argument. He said three highly educated, uber successful black women didn't have the brain processing power to be taken seriously. You think he feels differently about less educated, less successful black women? He did not utter the words (in that clip) "black women." He uttered the words of 3 black women specifically but that doesn't mean that he meant all black women. My guess is he didn't mean Condoleezza Rice or Harris Faulkner. This is another left wing dishonest post

Before the leftists freak out…..
Remember that the Biden Administration investigated Catholic Churches and parents going to school board meetings
I'm dealing with the dishonesty of the X post. Not good.Deal with the argument. He said three highly educated, uber successful black women didn't have the brain processing power to be taken seriously. You think he feels differently about less educated, less successful black women?
Free speech is a protection in the constitution from government snuffing out free speech. Being ignorant of what your employer expects is different. I was told repeatedly as a young employee out of college that I was a 24/7 representative of the company. Didn't mean I couldn't go out. Didn't mean I couldn't drink or whatever. It did mean actions casting a bad light on hte company would not be tolerated. Every other aspect of my life belonged to me for my choices, but not bringing my my company under the microscope. And it certainly did not allow for what has been going on in america and SM the last few years. Conservatives have been cancelled and under attack for at this crazy level for what 10 strong years now or more? Yet, libs are astounded that their lack of decorum in public posts that damages their employer has consequences. The political left has literally convinced the sheep that they can do and say anything and not be accountable. If Pelosi herself was assassinated and right wing nutjobs posted the same hate these people are posting about Kirk, I'd expect nothing less from their employers. You say they rightfully lost their jobs. So your tolerance of free speech is low? Or what?
No he didn't say all black women. You did leave off the "we know" at the start of the statement you quoted at the last of your first paragraph. That's some real mental gymnastics trying to defend and explain it. "We know" changes your dumbed downed effort. NiceWTH?

He only said that about women who self-professed themselves to be DEI hires. Thus, the logic is: "Oh, so by your own admission, you didn't have the brain power to get the job on merit."
Again, he did NOT say that all black women lack brain power, nor that the specific ones he named lacked brainpower becasuse they were black. He was making the point that if they had the brain power to get the job, they n would not have had to have DEI give them an advantage over others. They could have gotten it on merit.
If he were a racist, we wouldn't need you race-mongers interpreting it for us. We could see it for ourselves.

You are clearly a despicable human being.
He called them by name specifically, to avoid the broad stroke. I wonder how the black men and women in TPUSA he works with and travels with feel about those same 3 women.I'm dealing with the dishonesty of the X post. Not good.
As for the specifics of what was said, IMO Charlie is saying that those 3 women are not very bright and they reached their positions because of affirmative action. Not because of merit
So those three, who had a high degree of education and achievement, are morons, but Charlie believes less successful less educated black women have comparable brain processing power to everyone else. That's your theory?I'm dealing with the dishonesty of the X post. Not good.

Added benefit of trade apprenticeships is that they don't teach you to hate the systemic source of your paycheck.Trade school? Haverford is a progressive hothouse. If students can be traumatized by “insensitivity” on that leafy campus, then they’re unlikely to function as effective team members in an organization that has to deal with everyday realities. And in any event, I don’t want to hire someone who makes inflammatory accusations at the drop of a hat.
Student activists don’t represent the majority of students. But I find myself wondering about the silent acquiescence of most students. They allow themselves to be cowed by charges of racism and other sins. I sympathize. The atmosphere of intimidation in elite higher education is intense. But I don’t want to hire a person well-practiced in remaining silent when it costs something to speak up.
I’ve met recent Ivy grads with conservative convictions who manifest a form of posttraumatic stress disorder. Others have developed a habit of aggressive counterpunching that is no more appealing in a young employee than the ruthless accusations of the woke.
In recent years, I’ve taken stock of my assumptions about who makes for the best entry-level employee. I have no doubt that Ivy League universities attract smart, talented and ambitious kids. But do these institutions add value? My answer is increasingly negative. Dysfunctional kids are coddled and encouraged to nurture grievances, while normal kids are attacked and educationally abused. Listening to Haverford’s all-college Zoom meeting also made it clear that today’s elite students aren’t going to schools led by courageous adults. Deprived of good role models, they’re less likely to mature into good leaders themselves.
There is some fallacy in there for service members that do their 4 and get out and can't find decent work. THere are universities at every base that can provide educations and training while enlisted. Those that do their enrollment and leave with no other preparation aren't too terribly prepared for life than they were 4 years earlier coming out HS. Also putting minds that young in some of the overseas situations they are ill preapred to handle has a pretty devere affect. My nieces husband just came out of military pushing 40 or lsightly over. Great career. Explosives expert. 6 tours. Taught explosives training classes in NC. Been out 2 plus years now. Manageable PTSD. Finally got his full diability and back pay. Still no regular job. Didn't train or educate for life after explosives. It’s around 50%

They are usually hired or at least recommended to the Dean to hire by the chair and members of the particular academic department. Academic record and prior teaching experience usually need to be high level for a tenure track positionUT fired assistant professor Tamar Shrinian

Side note - how do we end up hiring these people in the first place? what value add could they possibly represent to the student body?
