My point was that people on the left will support/defend evil actions if the perpetrator is one of them, but the right does the exact same thing. This country is beyond divided and that’s exactly what the people who control it want. Clearly, however, a huge part of the problem is that so many people see only one point of view, and SM isn't set up to challenge that.

I will say as well, it seems to me that a lot of the problem is youth. They get so much of their news and opinion from social media that they have no perspective. Older people understand that there are other points of view and that they have been wrong in the past and so they are more tolerant of other points of view and willing to consider them. Young people today get amped up by that one point they see over and over.

How about tik tok or facebook.or whatever the hip ones are have their algorithms from time to time say, "Hey, consider this other view point. Make up your own mind, but be broadminded,."
