Charlie Kirk Shot and killed

how has stooping to violence worked for this country?

Yeah! things are bad, we should make them worse! that will really show them, and us, and all the innocent people.
hmm idk gaining our independence seemed to work out pretty well when our forefathers “stooped to violence” or idk maybe the Civil War

We are on the precipice of another civil war in this country. You’re being woefully blind if you can’t see it coming. Been brewing for years

Any person that says Trump or any other elected official needs a visit from the Secret Service, FBI or local LE if allowed. This is the FAFO time for this sort of thing. This cannot become normalized behavior, where it is accepted as commonplace . These losers need to be visited and have the fear of God put into them.

Another civil war will happen only if they ban booze and shut off the TVs.....

True but that still doesn't negate the fact that violence has it's uses.

I also seriously doubt that we see a summer of 2020 reaction to this murder.
this one? I agree. a string of political murders of mid level personalities on both sides? and yeah, you will see violence. especially when the rhetoric keeps being super charged by both sides trying to blame the other.

Violence is useful when its controlled. its why professional armies are preferred and you don't just go round up a bunch of dudes and give them guns.

vigilante violence has no place in this country.

But we can agree that not every sociopath that wants one should so easily be able to possess one, yes?
Which is why we have had laws on the books for years. They've just never been enforced. Anti-gunners clammor for the need for gun control, when we already have a platform, if enforced, would be more than sufficient. However, a vast majority of gun violence in this country is with unregistered (blackmarket) guns that will continue to exist no matter what. And once you ban the right to own arms, the law abiding citizens that have guns the legal way will then become patrons of the blackmarket supply. People don't get that. They just fall in line to the pandering.

If I were the feds I would start with Reddit. They celebrate and actively cheer violence against Conservatives/Right wingers every day. It’s no surprise people are getting radicalized. Below is just one example:

yeah that "brewing" is the violence you are so dismissive of.

I explained it to hog and others. you are lumping politically charged vigilante retaliatory violence with the acts of professional armies following orders. those are not comparable.

my sentra is a car. I would be a dang fool to compare it to a formula 1 race car and say they are the same.

They don't have to be 'murican' for me to care. What is happing in GAZA is a genocide and disgusting. Just like I'd hope you'd care when millions of jews were in a concentration camp.
What is happening in GAZA is also at the beheast of their own actions that incited the retaliation. It's simple. Stop trying to wipe Jews off the face of the earth and they will not retaliate.

I agree with this post. Other than I am a firm believer in letting boys fight. I think a big reason we are seeing so much vitriol and rude behavior today is because nobody is afraid of getting punched in the mouth. They aren't learning that lesson while young.

I am consistent. mob violence isn't good no matter who did it, who they did it to, or why.

I'll agree with that. But most crowds don't typically start out violent or looking for a fight. There's generally a catalyst that sparks such behavior. In this case, it was a peaceful vigil that some a-hole decided to go full douche at and paid the price. You can't expect a crowd that size to not have a few emotionally charged individuals that are going to take matters into their own hands. And the majority of that crowd didn't engage. (the shrieking woman screaming "stop!" was annoying)

But I'll go back to what I said earlier about disdain and contempt from the left. The fact the right has been reticent to engage had emboldened the left to push even more. Well, this guy figured out pretty quick the terms of "know your audience" and that he pushed too far this time.

Not sure where you got “violence I am so dismissive of” but ok

another big reason we see so much is because of the rhetoric coming out of both sides. both sides are guilty of dehumanizing the other, wishing bad things on the other, ignoring their sides bad acts, while magnifying the others.
