Charlie Kirk Shot and killed

I mean it's a little early at this point. We don't even know who did it...... Much less their reasoning. And while I agree because of his profile it's most likely due to his political beliefs/stances until we have a shooter and can infer motive it's just speculation. If it was an unhinged trans person it would still be a senseless act of gun violence.

It is possible it was a political hit though, we will see....... Hopefully as the person is brought to justice.
Good grief. Go to bed man. What an idiotic post

An estimated 200 yard shot to the neck/throat area.

I don't mean this to sound crass, but that was a display of high-level marksmanship.
This was not a person who just grabbed a rifle on a whim and decided to shoot someone.
With a brief instructional, someone who's never touched a rifle can get behind a scoped .223, .308, whatever and flat out nail targets at that range. Common rounds shoot flat at that range, no need to adjust for elevation.
Shooting targets at 200 yards can actually be quite boring, it's so easy. Unless you're using a .22LR which doesn't appear the case here.

And “senseless gun violence” are the countless shootings that happen in Memphis & Chicago every weekend where innocent non-targets are hit and killed.

This was a targeted, deliberate attack.

Yes, this wasn't a mass shooting, where the shooter indiscriminately seeks to inflict as much pain, suffering and death on as many as possible. This was a one-shot, one-kill scenario. Ronny Jackson, Congressman from Texas and Trump's personal physician during his first term, said essentially that the best trauma surgeon, had he been there on the scene, couldn't have saved him. He also said that, with the massive blood loss from that wound, Charlie probably left this world within 60 seconds of having been shot. That screams "assassination" to me.

I disagree. This was a missed head shot. This was a practiced novice IMO, similar to the Trump shooter.

Yes but assassinating a political commentator is ultimately senseless too.
Of course. But not in the sense that term is usually applied to “gun violence”.

Senseless Gun Violence usually implies random attacks vs random targets, or outburst attacks vs non-targets.

Political assassinations are deliberate attacks vs specific targets. Are they ultimately “senseless” as well? Yes. But not quite the same imo.

I've heard enough of your input. Ever since you posted you werent certain this was political
if this was just some unhinged trans person then it wouldn't be political, it would be personal.

I said that due to his profile it likely was political, but we would have to see. What happened to facts vs feelings?

And honestly I really don't care if you'd heard enough of me or not. Sounds like a personal problem that doesn't move my needle.

Without a doubt. I watched the video. The amount of blood loss was significant and immediate, and likely unrecoverable.

I sure hope your info is correct.....I will be voting for MB for Gov of the Great State of TN!
Official post from MTSU’s Facebook:
𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐌𝐓𝐒𝐔 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐒𝐢𝐝𝐧𝐞𝐲 𝐀. 𝐌𝐜𝐏𝐡𝐞𝐞:

An MTSU employee today offered inappropriate and callous comments on social media concerning the horrific and tragic murder of Charlie Kirk. The comments by this employee, who worked in a position of trust directly with students, were inconsistent with our values and have undermined the university’s credibility and reputation with our students, faculty, staff and the community at large. This employee has been fired effective immediately. We extend our deepest sympathies to the Kirk family.

Sincerely,
Sidney A. McPhee
President

I don't have a problem with his statement. It was senseless gun violence. Had he taken it any further id agree but his statement is factual and measured.
The problem is it takes someone to make a gun kill. Y'all want to blame an object, yet never blame the cause. Democrats are all over social media calling for violence, literally for violence. Nobody on the left will even acknowledge that, just blame guns, trump, the nra, etc. Whoever dhot him, probably wouldn't have had they not been influenced by someone. Any violence is wrong, any shooting is uncalled for (unless it's a guilty child predator), but nobody wants to address the real problem, just tge object. Look at places with gun bans, knife attacks, driving cars into crowds, evil influenced people will find a way. Until the influence stops, the violence won't. Not sure why people can't understand that.

What? If it was an “unhinged trans person” that would imply they killed him for his political views on transgenderism.

That would 100% make it political.

I really don't see the difference here!?!?

They do.
But everyone - except conservatives - knows they are fascists that need shooting. To save democracy.
Who wouldn't openly advocate whacking, say, an 8th-grade Hitler? Or celebrate the event?

Laura perceives she's saying something entirely sane.

But we've seen this play out so many times. At what point are these people going to pause before hitting "post" and think "maybe I'm not more insightful than the countless other online geniuses that ruined their own lives..."

Miss me with the y'all crap. I'm a 2a advocate. I'm strictly talking about his response. Everything you posted above is white noise.

I get it's senseless, but the gun takes a person. It's an object, it can not do anything on it's own is what I'm saying. I do apologize if i misunderstood, or put you in with the gun grabbing crowd.

OK, thanks for confirming that you're an idiot. I'll take that into account in the future.

No, it would be personal. It would be you attacking me personally.
You seem to be of the belief that the two are mutually exclusive. They’re not.

If he was shot because of his views on one of the hottest political footballs of the day, then the shooting was 100% political. Not sure how you can’t connect those dots.

I like you. So I’m going to stop before I get really condescending.

I hope your goat is doing better. You’re a good man.
