Charlie played at halftime when we played Alabama in '78 or '79. It poured down rain, but it was a great time!

He does a pretty sweet version of Rocky Top. I believe it was recorded live in Iraq and in the intro he baits other SEC fans into cheering for their teams, then says "well you all aren't going to like this song because you have to listen to it everytime the Tennessee Vols make a touchdown" and blasts into Rocky Top turned up to 11.

Butch went down to Georgia looking for recruits to steal. He was in a bind cause Debord was way behind, he was willing to make a deal. When he came across this young man playing football and playing it hot. Butch jumped upon a hickory stump and said boy let me tell you what. I guess you didnt know it but i was a football player too. And if you'd care to take a dare ill offer a scholarship to you. Now you play pretty good football boy, but give the butch hisdue. Ill bet a trophy of gold against your soul Cause i'll make a better player of you.

That man from Mount Juliet loves him some Tennessee and Vols football!

He made some great music in his heyday.

He does lots to help our Vets too.

He's alright in my book.

#BrickbyBrick...VFL...GBO!!!

Yep. And ABC switched to the live feed of his halftime show just in time for the "I done told you once you son of a gun, I'm the best that's ever been." Only Charlie didn't say "gun". Keith Jackson apologized when they switched it back to him.

I've seen him there a few times in that timeframe. I think once was actually vs. UGA, and of course he played Devil Went Down to Georgia, anyway.
