Also known as 'FIRED' by any other definition.

I'm OK with letting him go, but at least call it what it is instead of pretending.

Baggett did not get along well with the other members of the staff and created some disharmony this past season. He rarely agreed with the other offensive coaches. It was best that he left.

Pretty sure it wasn't just Baggett. Notice how most of our coaching staff jumped ship at the first opportunity to get out of Knoxville.

I don't think anyone is pretending, they sent a well respected coach who has had a great career packing and instead of rubbing his face in it, tried to do the classy thing.

Wilcox was looking to get out of the SEC and back towards the left coast. Dooley pretty much told him to get on the bus or get out and head west. Sirmon was hitched to his side. That was a no brainer there. Russell to Washington State with Leach was another no brainer. He got to move back home and coach with his old coach.

Pretty standard language for a severance package. Gribble is infering UT is trying to hush Baggett. Piss poor reporting.

That's the way I read it. I don't delve into the fine print of too many contracts but I imagine other contracts at major universities have similar language.

Sounds like he was pushed out the door and threatened litigation. UTAD paid an agreed severance to signal the peaceful parting of ways.

Notice how there were valid reasons to back up pretty much all of those moves?

Maybe if any of those coaches actually enjoyed working under Dooley then it wouldn't have been such a no brainer. Or you know - if they hadn't seen the writing on the wall about their jobs being gone in likely 1-2 seasons.

I said this before and I will say it again most overrated assistant last year. Talent wise our WRs were great, but coaching wise awful.

I'd be curious to how you evaluate our offensive line and secondary coaching then - and even though we had a GA doing the job.. RB coaching..
