When should JJ play?

LET JJ PLAY NOW! Seriously, there are no charges - nothing. He has been punished a lot more than any other program would for someone who was just in wrong place at the wrong time. he has been out 3 games. CUM only holds players out a half for poking out someone's eye. Play JJ now, and lets get to Tampa!

I don't know what the answer will be. I don't know what the right answer should be. As a matter of fact, I don't even know what I would do in CLK's position since he is privy to information that I don't have.

All I know is that whatever CLK decides needs to be based on what is best for the Tennessee program, not for one player or for one game.

Well the only thing I can think of is there was word that weed was on some of the persons.

I think he's cleared that first hurdle of the Armed Robbery, but he may still have an uphill climb.

I agree. It will be a tough sell to MH. It cannot be answered on a fan board.

Let me just add, JJ had better give his all for UT for the rest of his UT career. After this staff and administration has stuck thier collective necks out for this guy, he had better not pull any more stupid stunts. I hope he and his family realize and apperciate the fact that everyone put thier butts on the line by putting pressure on the powers that be to get his butt outta hot water.
You said it best. IMO he needs to learn that it is a privilege to play football D-I football, if he hasn't already.

Exactly.

And a lot of people need to realize Lane Kiffin is not the only person involved in this decision making process

Charges dropped, end of story.

Legally? Sure. Football wise? Not necessarily. Kiffin has no responsibility to run the team like the court system. If he feels that, as has been reported, this is another incident in a pattern for JJ then he is in no way obligated to allow him to play just because the charges were dropped. The team isn't a democracy and the "innocent until proven guilty" mantra goes out the window after the legal situation has been sorted out.

I'm glad I don't have to make this decision. It's a tough one.

Assuming he is punished for weed, if he was smoking, I guess they will have to decide what normal punishment would be for that alone. If it is one game suspension, he has already been suspended for two. If this is the case and that is all he is guilty of, he should play IMO, considering all charges have been dropped.

BOOK IT. CLK Will have JJ play againt UK on Saturday. No Doubt. The "rest of the season" crowd is just wrong.

The cops said JJ had no idea the incident was going to happen, and fully cooperated with police. Two game suspension for nothing IMO. He should play ASAP, and CLK knows it. He will have JJ on the field.

Let's put this thing behind us. Either you have faith in the Knox County justice system or you don't.

Charges dropped, end of story. Also, don't think for one second that if he was lying about his non-involvement, Nuke and Edwards' attorneys wouldn't be screaming their heads off about it.

^This has to be about as wrong as a person can be. If the two attorneys make public statements implicating JJ, they implicate their clients as well.

In reality, nobody knows what JJ knew and when he knew it except for JJ. There is some circumstantial evidence that he is a bonehead, but I don't think it is all that clear that he knew about the plan, or the gun, or the drugs in the car. If the lesson he needs to learn is "hang around with a higher class of people," he should have learned it by now. I assume this has been a pretty big shock to the kid.

CLK will do the right thing. He probably has better information than most.

JJ wasn't hanging out with known serial killers. At the time they were football players. It would be hard to tell him "you picked the wrong friends even though we gave them schollys to play here so you can't play the rest of the year." Pu-lease. He sat out the two games when he had charges against him. Now that he doesn't he should be allowed to play.

And he was suspended for that game as well. That is now 3 games the kid has been suspended and only one can possibly be justified. Do we know for sure he was suspended for drugs in that game? I have heard it was for underage drinking. Apparently Hyams is the only person that said he was suspended for drugs and he has ZERO credibility as far as I'm concerned. Hyams tends to get confused.

He has already served a suspension. Which a lot of teams and coaches would have played him while he awaited trial to PROVE his innocence. Those who state CLK needs to make a statement.........."hello" he already has. Enough of the prosecution syndrome complexes.

PLAY HIM!

I don't think anyone outside of the coaching staff knows what really happened. Hyams said failed drug test and others stated he was in an heated argument at a bar that included underage drinking. If anyone knows for sure they aren't saying.

I think JJ should play. He may not be innocent, but he is not guilty either. I agree with previous posts, 2 game suspension is enough.

I have to disagree and think it's a terrible idea. Putting the players in charge is a quick way to let a program spiral out of control.

The players (Hardesty and Berry) made the decision to go with black jerseys, and Hamilton listened to them, so I don't know why you wouldn't want to.

I think that Montarrio Hardesty, Jon Crompton, Rico McCoy, Eric Berry (not a senior, but definitely a leader with a valuable opinion) and Josh McNeil can absolutely be trusted as council on this decision.

That is also definitely not putting the players in charge... it's taking a select few members that are seniors/leaders and their viewpoints as being valuable in an indication if JJ being allowed to play would cause a rift in a team that has had enough to deal with regarding injuries.

Well it is a very vague situation. Hyams is not the only one speculating on the drug test.

We probably will never know for sure unless he leaked it out himself.

However, whether it was drugs or not ... He is close to running out of lives.
