Changes Are Afoot (rumor)

I think I would be pretty surprised if any of our staff left. I'd say that Dooley negotiated some leverage in being able to retain staff. Hamilton didn't have much room to say no and likely had to provide the resources to prevent unnecessary turnover. I think the only way Lance leaves is if he is offered a DC spot at a big school.

By the same token, I suppose if Dooley didn't want somebody around, they would be sent packing ala Reeves. In any case, I would be doubly shocked if any moves were made AFTER national signing day. That just wouldn't make any sense for anybody.

Oh peaches, Chaney might leave?? Some great, hall of fame caliber, coaches/birds weren't meant to be caged I guess. I think we should just all take the high road and wish him the best, we could even offer to help him pack up and leave...I'm available today, can be there by noon.. Just want to thank him for all his hard work and creativity in the run game, we can even take him to the airport..."Don't worry Jim, just leave it all here we will send the boxes, you've done enough.."

Indeed, you are a disciple of Mike Hamilton Fan and understand his trade well.

He (MHF) took me under his wing and taught everything he knows about internet posting and spreading the word. I've never been so free. Who needs some truth laid on 'em?

I understand your first point, but I can honestly say that there have been very few times this year that I didnt know exactly what we would be running before the snap.

If you knew exactly what was comin surely some div1 dcoords and head coaches would know what was comin and be able to stop it.

We are def not talented enough to be a "here it is, stop it" team.

Hate when ppl pull that card

Art, Simms, and Pope are pretty much a forgone conclusion. Thompson leaving wouldn't be a shock, but would hurt.

If Thompson leaves, worst case scenario is that Peter Sirmon gets promoted.

That's not necessarily a bad thing.

Gotta keep Baggett. I bet one of them is for sure Simms, seeing as how he really has no chance of winning back the starting job. I just hope it's not someone like Milton.

I hope we don't lose any of our coaches, but one player who may leave imo is Oku. I don't see Simms leaving. He only has one more year so where would he go? I don't know that Pope would leave either especially if he has medical issues, not to mention he only has one more year also.

I have just thought that his playcalling has been awful for most of this year. Not sure how much that is dictated by personnel or lack of, but he hasnt mixed up the playcalling at all imo.

How do you mix up play calling with ZERO O-Line? a good RB...but not great speed or strength?

He did well with what he had!

Milton was one of my first thoughts.

as far as players leaving, I see Montori Hughes sadly leaving before Art, Simms, Pope.

Milton was one of my first thoughts.

The reason why I say Milton is due to us already having Hunter and Rogers. Arnett may even move ahead of Milton this spring. So he might say "screw it" and go somewhere where he can be a 1 to 2 string starter.

I hope it's Art Evans. He really made me look like a fool this year. I thought he played well last year, and with some expected improvement, I was expecting good things.... boy was I wrong.

Staff has done a great (good) job!

Chuck Smith is the one that I question! He needs another year with some talent to really be evaluated.

I say no changes are needed unless someone leaves for a bigger position!

Lets be honest...We would have ALL taken 6-6 and a bowl bid before the year started!

so..........he could not beat out Rogers or Hunter? Go where you can play. If he is not good enough...play elsewhere. He will not be missed.

I doubt he gets beaten out by a EE. He was an EE last year. WR will be all new starters. I just remember reading he was homesick.

Somebody on staff is going to move on and expect a few players to leave. This guy really stepped out there.
