Chaney's offense ...............

I hope he's reconsidered heavy dependence on option routes. It takes alot of work on timing to make those effective. Most college teams can't/won't make that kind of investment.

Tell that to June Jones and John Jenkins.

Straight from Tiller/Chaney playbook:

Purdue

I have the full 2000 playbook if anyone is interested.

I used to have that playbook.

Also used to have a 1977 Alabama playbook as well.

Yep I have the 77 Bama along with some others.

I have two or three Cutcliffe/Tennessee early 2000s playbooks among a great deal of others, over 1000.

I guess it's a weird hobby.

It's not that weird. I love getting my hands on some old playbooks.

I read an article on Chaney the other day, and it basically eluded to the fact that Chaney isn't the "spread" guy he used to be. He said that once he got to St. Louis, he realized that a well balanced pro-style offense can be much more effective.

I'm sorry but I would respectfully disagree. Kiffin (as much as it pains me to say) was an excellent play caller. He kept most teams off balance with the exception of Va Tech and maybe Ole Miss.

Thats why we couldnt put the ball in from inside the 5 yard line? Why we ran the ball up the gut on 3rd and 20? There were some moments where he made some descent calls but more often then not I wondered what was going on down there to make the calls that were made.

Quite often, LK was playing to lose by a minimum as opposed to playing to win. As much as it pains me to admit it, Urban Meyer was right on that one.

Kiffin really couldn't press the issue too much with Crompton pre-Georgia game at QB. It was run the ball with Hardesty, or run the ball with Brown. Not much else.

I do like the way that Kiffin went for it on 4th down a lot of time. Of course, with Palardy coming in to most likely punt for us, we can afford to punt, but you gotta admit, it gave us some swagger when we got it.

This year we are going to finish about 7-5 same as last year. If not better. We actually are going to be a better team than most in years to come. We have a young O-line but by the 3rd game this season they are going to click really well. I like the O-line and with them being so young by the end of the season they will be very very good. I like Ja'Wuan James
