Nice to hear OC Jim Chaney is staying with the #Vols. I like the guy. Atypical personality for a football

Coach Chaney impressed me last Spring. I spent 4 days at the Vols Spring practice and from what I saw from him and the players he worked with, the man can Coach!

He was very impressive at coaching clinic. Let this guy call the plays this year. We'll be pleased.

I just hope this means we are running a Pro-Style O. That is UT football and I want it to STAY that way.

I do like whats happening so far.

I read on one of the many threads that CDD said that Coach Chaney was a perfect fit for his offense. I believe that Chaney may have a more active role as a play caller this season. Another good point is that if he is the perfect fit, then possibly not much will change in the offense and that will help the players that were here last year as they would not have to learn an entirely new system..... again.

I was able to sit and eat with Coach Chaney at the Coach's Clinic and he is a very personable man who exhibited the ability to explain in great detail his offensive philosophy and make it easy to understand. In talking with him you can tell he is very passionate in his belief in what he is doing offensively. He is and will truly be an assest to the new staff.

Really glad to hear this!! Other than our D committs, our O player commits have no reason not to stick with the Vols!!

Coach O was supposed to be at the same clinic, if it was the Big East Clinic held in Gatlinburg. We were told that he could not make it because he was in Texas recruiting. Was he? Was he in Texas or was he at USC working on the deal behind the scenes while Kiffin was in Orlando? When did he call UT to get his recruiting info forwarded to him? I was told 3 weeks ago by a coach in Memphis that Coach O was going back to USC because his wife hated it here.

Also on his twitter...

We just spoke exclusively with Jacques Smith. It's official. He reaffirmed his commitment to the #Vols. Called Bama and LSU to tell them

That's

So so far we only lost Willis, Dixon, Taylor and maybe Ambles? Not bad in terms of damage control.

on twitter, wes rucker:

Jacques Smith told Derek Dooley to stop wasting his time with him and go get him some more teammates.

wow looking at this big picture.. We only lost LK, MK and Ogregon. We hire a GREAT DC and we may have stepped up. I liked Monte but to be honest the Wildcat he just couldnt do anything with and I was actually at times wishing for Chief. Our Dline never got the penetration consistently all year so not sold on Ogregon coaching abilities. If I was a recruit I would still come to UT. Nothing has really changed.

Great news regarding Chaney. Great personality that that can relate to and motivate players to be the best they can be, plus the guy is a great coach. We are gonna be fine guys, the Kiffin lovers / Dooley doubters will come around.
