Chaney interviewing with Rams?

Yeah, I don't see those two together. Fisher is a pound the rock guy; Chaney is a sprint-draw guy. Could Chaney be a QB coach? Yeah, maybe, but I don't see that happening.

That makes the QB coaching job that much easier. Here hand this off...again...again...again....again...

I thought someone said Dooley was the sprint-draw guy?

Schotty and Chaney share terminology. Wouldn't be surprised.

Wouldn't be either as a position coach. He was TE coach there before. Could go back as a QB coach as well.

He's about all that's left. Joseph is in tight and Hinshaw is still building cred.

JH is right. Dooley is a man/zone blocking guy. Chaney/Hiestand were sprint draw. Fisher was man for most of his time at the Titans.

No, I think he just a pro-style guy. At La-La Tech, his QB got under center a lot. I think Chaney is really the one who wants to pass 80% of the time. Fisher wants his lineman to fire out off the ball and be bulls in a china shop. Chaney wants his lineman to first stand straight up and make every play look like a pass so that the linebackers begain to retreat. Then occasionally hand the ball off to a running back just enough to keep them honest. The Saints did it very well this year. The Colts with Peyton had a lot of luck with the approach. In theory, it gives you a chance when you don't have enough strength to just line up and punch someone in the nose.

While you may could find a good replacement Im sure Dooley is at a point where he hopes we have seen the end of having to replace anymore coaches this year.

This almost sounds like the opposite. Not saying it is. But he was kinda forced to put together a staff very quickly we he got here. Now that he has stability with players and good recruits coming in, he may want to do a thorough cleaning and put who he wants on the staff. Heistand and Russell were both fired from IIRC prior to taking the UT job.

Id buy that if he was guaranteed 2 more years and had the time for the new staff to transition properly, IMO he doesn't have that.

St. Louis Rams: Mort is reporting tonight that Hue Jackson will interview for the offensive coordinator role; but Brian Schottenheimer is still considered the front-runner.
