Hey guys, I know this topic has been talked about a little bit in other threads and by all accounts Teague looks good to contend for one of the starting corner positions but I figured it was at least worth debating on the board.

If Janzen and Brewer come back next year, we will return all four starters in the secondary. And with all the defensive backs that we brought in this year, especially Moore, Lanier and Coleman, as well as Naz Oliver returning from injury, what are the chances that Teague moves back to WR?

I know we have a lot of talent at WR but a lot of it is young and although they showed promise, a lot of those guys struggled at times last year (namely D. Rogers, Z rodgers, and even Hunter). So I guess what I'm getting at is do you think it's completely out of the question to see Teague, or maybe somebody else, make the switch?
I'll hang up and listen, go vols.:salute:

I think he stays at corner. Why is there no one thinking Gordon is going to be a starter?

To me its close. I like Gordon's physical play. I think Prewag and Teague make the largest stride this offseason.

I agree about Gordon I think with a little maturity he could be a good one.

Why move him back to WR when we may have the best WR corp in the SEC for the next two to three years without him. Plus he helps our secondary that really does need help.

As a unit our WRs rank no better than 4th in the conference....

Signing Lanier, Moore, Randolph, Orta, Martin & Coleman signficantly improved our secondary. It would not surprise me to see MT playing both side of the ball this spring.

No he won't

I don't know about "lock down", but I won't be surprised at all if he is our best corner next season. He did pretty damn well while learning on the fly last year, and now will have another offseason to go along with the experience. Tremendous athlete. The idea of Teague having a break out season is not far fetched in the least.

Assuming Janzen and Brewer come back I imagine they will be our two starting safeties...so with that said Byron Moore will see the field. He's just too talented not too. Thus he will get one of the corner positions...and will be more talented than Teague.

You say that as if he didn't help our WR corp as a True Fresh. I really like Teague at WR, and i was hurt a little bit that they moved him to DB, but whats good for the team is more important that whats good for just a single player.. I want him to go back to WR, especially since we are missing that upperclassman role model with lost with the departure of DMoore, GJones and Big Luke.. But i think Wilcox will keep him for the D

Maybe once the season gets rolling....but Moore isn't going to just automatically become a starting corner. He's going to have to earn his spot just like everyone else, regardless of how talented he is.
