Chances Nunes starts....

im not saying that he's going to throw for 4,000 yards im just looking at his throwing motion, arm strength and his IQ and comparing him to other college QB's who have similar characteristics just as NBA scouts compare Derrick Rose to Deron Williams or scouts saying that Rodney Stuckey is a poor man's Dwyane Wade...
we're talking about comparisons being made against similar competition. HS football games do not offer any situation in which you can make such comparisons. It's the reason guys like Crompton get big star ratings, yet can't perform at the next level. There is absolutely no means of making reasonable comparisons. In basketball, there is a way to do it.

Those basketball players you speak of have played against college competition. Nunes has not. I see where you are going but I will reserve my opinions until I see him throw against legitimate defenses. Remember we heard very favorable views about Crompton and look what we have now.

EDIT: Damn you BPV, always stealing my thunder.

I think if Crompton plays his way out of the starting position, and Stephens and Coleman both do not impress....

I would say the chances are very good. He was Clawson's personal choice because of his apparently poise, arm strength and probably most of all what's between his ears.

I think this is a good point, if Clawson is still here. If Fulmer loses to Auburn, Georgia, Alabama and another one or two along they way, he might actually get fired this time. If he goes, the entire staff will go more than likely. If this happens, Nunes will probably not make it here either.

Another Scenario, Fulmer still sucks it up and is giving a last chance for one more season. In desperation, he knows the QB's we have can not get it done, he lets Clawson start Nunes.
