Chancellor balked on Curries offer to Brohm (Clay Travis rumor)

Clay getting in on the trolling fun.

Hate to see it, but he knew it would work.

This is how Clay rolls.

Same guy who said Jason Witten was interested in the coaching spot still gets this much attention. No matter how many times you deceive, there will always be a number of people who will come back for more. All you have to do is feed their preconceived prejudices.

Only in Tennessee could Clay Travis be Clay Travis.

Something is happening that is malevolent. I dont know if its boosters, vfl-ers, administrators. . . . But there is some sort of war going on

The war is between Haslam and Thornton and the rest of the donors. And that caused the fiasco on Sunday, not a social media firestorm. You guys are giving yourself too much credit for Sunday. The administration and the donors don't give a crap about what's on message boards.

David Cobb @DavidWCobb

A University of Tennessee source with direct knowledge of the situation tells me that the tweet from Clay Travis is "absolutely not true at all...No truth at all."

Hyams just said the UT President nixed the Brohm deal.

You can forget about ever, and I mean ever, knowing the 100% truth about anything that goes on in this ridiculous administration.

Zero transparency. He said, she said, all day, everyday.

over rule anything he negotiates then she needs to fire his ass now and get on a plane and negotiate a contract with the new coach now. If what is being reported is true then Currie is through as AD even if he is not fired. Put Fulmer in as AD and get the hell out of the way. The UT admin has screwed this up since 2009 and everything they do just makes it worse. Show me one thing they have done in the past 8 years that has been a benefit to the football team except upgrades to facilities that was already planned.:furious3::furious3::furious3:

Hyams reporting he was told it was accepted by Brohm but that it was Joe DiPietro who low balled, not Davenport.

Clean house. Not a job needs to be saved in the entire administration. Clean.Them.Out.

I disagree. The booster's against wouldn't have won Sunday if the fans hadn't risen up, called their political representatives and give the booster's against the for Schiano faction.

I told you all along, the Academic side wants to destroy athletics

They want UT to be an academic school like they said before "the Harvard of the South"

Well, dip****s, people don't buy tickets and merchandise to go watch a ****ing debate

If they had the funds to offer Gundy that deal, how does a $5 million buyout give them sticker shock?

We are ran by Dumb & Dumber.

Hyams just said on the radio that the president balked on the $5 million buyout, not the chancellor.

Would love to know if that is actually true. Considering everything going on this last week here, $5 million seems like a reasonable bargain for someone who is considering a good young coach who you are asking to leave a halfway decent job.

I wonder what Brohm's end of the buyout was? Did the original deal either give him a minimal buyout if he wanted to leave? Or possibly no buyout if he left for Louisville? While I could see that being a stumbling block in a normal negotiation, I think we left that point last night when Gundy said no.

There is no doubt that the news on Sunday was leaked to cause an uproar and force someone's hand.

Looks to me that struggle is still underway. Some one wants to get their way even if that means a bad hire.
