Season ticket holders have the choice of buying seat backs and cushions. I have noticed via snapchat and other vols social media that there are way more of these chair backs than I have ever seen(Season ticket holder since 2006). Anyone have an official number? Can't wait for a SEC Championship to close out my senior year at UT. GBO!!!

Most importantly: they hold your designated space on the bleachers. I remember games where my wife and I would arrive to space barely fit for one person before the seat cushions/backs.

On the end and you are lucky to get 1 cheek on

We fans seem to get broader and seats seem to get narrower as the years go by. I remember a time way in the past when I never seemed to be crowded for space, didn't even know what a football cushion was, never noticed the wood or whatever bench was hard and didn't gave a d---!

Yes that has been the case ever since they shrunk the seat widths while our country as a whole has expanded our waistlines. I say cut the max capacity and put the seat widths back where they were. Doesn't matter to students but it does when you're in a section that sits for first and second down. I get tired of rubbing Jim Joe's shoulder every time I sit down. And I don't think people are going to get any skinnier.

I say add to capacity and require standing. If you want a chair back stay in your living room. We are there to instill fear into opposing teams not sit back and get comfortable.

I am with you on the standing all game part but amongst the paying crowd you get shamed into sitting eventually. My kid can't see, my grandpa can't see, I'm finding an usher, etc. Just turns into a big hassle.

Yeah I know what you mean. It's frustrating getting told to sit down. I think they shoul reserve a section way up in the upper level for the elderly and over weight folks.

The older i get, the more likely I am going to use a chair back. Using one will cut down on people trying to squeeze an extra person next to them.

Maybe I'm in the minority but I don't mind people squeezing in. We need as many people as possible to be as loud as possible. I don't care if they paid or not.

Then quit telling people who paid how they shouldn't sit or cram more people in

I'm guessing you're over weight or elderly? i did pay. And I paid a preium to a person that has season tickets who made a lot of money off me. It's a hostile environment not you're living room. Cry me a river if someone rubs your shoulder.

If I had season tickets I'd definitely get the chair backs. Nothing worse than getting to your seats and there is barely any room because of people that have squeezed in with their friends or those of the larger capacity.

I've gotten the chair backs every year I've had season tickets and will continue to do so

Has anyone tried calling and getting chair backs for season tickets that you bought from someone?

I bought mine off of Stubhub, and was considering doing this if possible.

I used to think like that.

Then I grew up and realized if I'm in YY9 or QQ or wherever, if I'm yelling it doesn't really make a difference if my butt is on the aluminum or if I'm standing. I'm there and I'm making noise.

I realize there are some serious sticks in the mud at our games, but really and truly they're usually outliers and most of the complaints come from clods who insist on standing the entire game like they're still in the student section.

Sometimes those pesky elderly people love the Vols just as much as you, but their bodies will no longer allow them to stand for long stretches of time. Or maybe they're young and have health problems. Or have sustained injuries that won't allow it. Hell fire, there are more than a few VFLs on shredded knees that can't stand during a game.

You've got some serious gall if you'd run them out of the stadium for that reason.

You know my post was sarcasm? Is that elephant actually being hanged?
