Does anyone know the exact chain of command in our Athletic Department??

Currie was fired by Davenport?
Is she next above him? What is her title and who's above her and so on?

Then are the boosters above them all? And is Haslrn the biggest booster? If so does that means he bosses around everyone??

Any insight into these crazy politics would be great.... thanks!

I suggest listening to Doug Mathews podcast from last week. Lots of insight on this whole topic. You can get them for free up App Store or off his website

Thats what i wanna know... currie was haslams guy.... so does that mean haslam is not valling the shots now? Find it odd, that he would let his guy get fired without a fight, that would make jim look bad.. so im lost.. is haslam out?

Haslam isn't "out" of anything. He has no official position in the AD. He's a registered booster and I'm so he has a seat on the Athletic Board but he has no job title within the UTAD.

Currie was the AD and Vice Chancellors in charge of Athletics. He reported to Davenport the Chancellor of UTK. She reports to DiPietro who is the President of the UT system. DiPietro reports to the board which is ultimately headed by the governor.

Jimmy trades dollars for influence... lots of dollars.

But maybe, the board will look elsewhere for a sugar daddy.

Didn't I hear Currie was suspended with pay?

Maybe that's what they're going with until the numbers are worked out. Or a fired with "cause" scenario.

Sitting Governor appoints Board Of Trustees
BOT's hire University President
President hires Chancellor
Chancellor hires Vice Chancellor / AD dierector

This is the current structure. We all know who the Governor is. I believe (but not positive their is also a Haslam on the BOT's) The president D something, hasn't been seen since his appointment years ago. He is the mystical president. The Chancellor, well we all know about Cheek, now it's Davenport. The AD, we all know about Hart, Currie, and now Fulmer. The current structure has been a disaster since day 1. Someone else mentioned Doug Matherws on 104.5 the zone. He references this often and is very knowledgeable on how it differs from the way it used to be, and how the new structure has negatively impacted UT, especially the athletic department. In many people's opinion (if not most), the biggest problem with UT athletics, especially the FB situation, is the Haslam family, Jimmy Haslam in particular. Too much control. I hope today was the first step, in remedying that long standing problem. Time will tell.

Money =power. Boosters are not officially in charge but unofficially they run the show
