CFP First Round: #10 Indiana @ #7 Notre Dame (8PM ABC/ESPN)

What sucks is because of how few good teams there are in the Big 10, we will see this same setup in perpetuity. The Big 10 will always have one completely unworthy team in the playoffs because they only played one or two decent games in conference.
Beat me to it. Last year it would have been Iowa. This year it was Indiana. Next year it will be someone else, because there are enough terrible teams in the B1G

Indiana is who we thought they were. They played nobody to get in the playoffs. The one team they did play in OSU rolled them now a slightly above average team in Notre Dame is beating them easily

Penn State also falls in that category, beat no one all year and gets to host a game. I'm curious to see how they do against SMU tomorrow.

I think the fact that Michigan sucked, Wisconsin hasn’t taken off under Fickell, Washington is now in a rebuild after going to the title game, USC not living up to expectations under Riley and Nebraska still doing Nebraska things have all led to IU having this opportunity. Under normal circumstances those teams are all better than Indiana, but they’ve all had new coaches in the past few years and they’re in a transition mode.

Yeah it’s more a question of which Ole Miss Team shows up though. That’s my point. The good Ole Miss team would beat ND

The bad one would not.
I agree. I just think Ole Miss is a bad matchup for Notre Dame. Ole Miss leads the country in defense for Rushing yards per attempt. If Ole Miss stops notre dame on the ground I don’t think Leonard is good to win a game by himself . Even though he just made that throw.

KC is a much better coach than BJ
I agree. It's a ridiculous comparison..The talent difference between what Butch had vs what Cignetti has is night and day. Butch always flubbed up against some bad team and had many close games with inferior opponents.

Cignetti, while having an "easy" schedule, played above their talent level and won 11 games. They should never beat a team like Michigan & Washington or mop the floor with teams like Nebraska, Michigan St, and Maryland who are similarily talented. Cignetti has squeezed what he could out of his roster. It's only year 1 as well.

Out of curiosity I went over to an IU board just to see their responses to the punt. This post had me laughing:

It will be even more clear next year when we go to Iowa, PSU and Oregon

When you're worried next year's schedule is harder because of a game at Iowa, it shows what a total cakewalk this year was.

Indiana is gonna score the same amount of points that Bama did against a team that barely made a bowl.

Well people chiming in saying IU shouldn't be in this gonna be pointing to this game. Can't win either LOS and is definitely too slow for this level. And I don't think ND was that good tonight.
