CFP.....deep thoughts

What has he done to override the classless way he attempted to get 11 guys already on our campus to not attend classes the day after he and his equally classless boss decided to bolt for USC? I have seen no contrition for those actions ever. On our payroll and I bet with a phone being paid for by UT Athletics. He cannot put those bullets back in the gun. So yeah I continue to hold him in the lowest esteem possible. I can recognize that he has done a great job with LSU in spite of his character limitations. But would not rule out his lack of a moral compass costing them in the future if he succumbs to the pressure to sustain that program in the future.
Its business bro, dont take it personally.

No. I completely disagree. I don't think a pac 12 champion is better than Alabama or Georgia. I don't think Oklahoma is better than Alabama or Georgia. There should never, ever be a scenario where a team "automatically" gets in the playoffs. That's ludicrous. We just disagree. That's fine. As a side, playoffs just dilute the regular season more. That's why nobody talks about the NBA until after the NFL draft.

The 4 spot didn’t matter this year. There are 3 teams that are night and day ahead of everyone else in the top 25. Whoever got the 4 spot was always gonna get blown out by LSU.

There is zero need for an expansion considering the strength of 1-3 and the weakness of 4-10.

Tonight's Clemson win just shows to go, OSU should have never been #1 at any point in the season.

lol what? They lost a close game to Clemson, the defending Nat’l champs who have won like 30 straight games.

And I hate OSU. Just not sure of this stance.

I was hoping Clemson would get a beatdown like OU did. We really needed Clemson to start losing. Recruiting would be much better if they did. Of course, we need to start winning too.
I do agree, regretfully, I have no respect for Orgeron, and to those who say its just business(telling recruits to not sign with UT) , UT was paying his salary to recruit those players to UT. If it was just business SC should have paid UT for Orgeron and Kiffins recruiting.

SEC officials strike again! OSU loves them some SEC officiating!
Sadly this will not change. Because the main stream media will not address this issue and put any real heat on the problem. Look for more of the same for next year.

- elite QBs win championships. Both LSU and Clemson’s QBs were lights out. Will HB be this kind of elite?

- would TN be the Clemson team we have seen over the past 5 years had we avoided the dysfunctional decade? How many names did you hear on Clemson’s roster tonight that would likely have been Vols had we picked the right coach the first time?

- was OK that bad or is LSU that good? Will we be able to score on that defense next year? Give them a fight next year?

- I would love to see LSU win it all but I still have a bad taste in my mouth about coach O telling our recruits to not attend class as he snuck off with Kiffin.

Just a few thoughts after watching the two games today? What say you?

WTF is CFP? Some of us aren't psychic.

What a great game it should be. Great to see two southern teams in the final again. Loved seeing OU embarassed and OSU and their obnoxious fans lose.

Yeah. Even though I really didn't GAF who won last night? Watching both teams in ugly reds go down to southern teams had to be pleasing to most southern born football fans.

The way you talk there's zero need for a playoff at all. Let's just go ahead and crown LSU champions right now. /S.

You have to look beyond JUST the playoff itself. What about how it would benefit the college football season as a whole? Surely you realize that by making the 5 power conference winners automatic bids into the playoffs, it makes winning your conference that much more important, making the individual conference games that much more important. Making the college football season as a whole more exciting.

Why would you give an "automatic bid?" So you are fully admitting that you want a model that doesn't aspire to put the eight best teams in? You are giving someone a ticket to the playoff based on what happens in one game? You'd have put Virginia in automatically had they beaten Clemson in an upset? You think three-loss Pac 12 champion should get in automatically over a SEC team whose only loss was in the conference championship? That just doesn't make any sense. All your model does is just create more games for the sake of creating games. If that's ultimately your goal and you just want to watch football, then that's fine.
This year proved that 4 is enough and the 4th place team didn't belong there, so if the fourth place team isn't in the same class as the other 3, then why would adding 4 more outclassed teams be justified?

My favorite part of the game was when Herbie happily said oh yeah that’s definitely a catch and a fumble, but the rules expert said I disagree, he never tucked it or made a football move. His OSU bias was on full display there and he had to backtrack and reign it in.

Makes no sense. They were the undefeated Big 10 champs and a play away from winning last night.
They are both really good teams that unfortunately play in weak conferences. They both can basically out talent who ever they play until they get to the playoff.I think that was one reason you saw so many injuries last night. Both teams were not use to getting hit like that.Great game to watch.

It’s hard to not watch the games and constantly think of Tennessee. We’d signed jg (a duel threat 5 star qb) the previous year and didn’t think too much about losing out on Lawrence. In fact, Georgia actually came in second in recruiting to Clemson. But Jg is an absolutely terrible qb. And it really all comes down to 1 skill...escapability. If there is any pressure at all, Jg gets sacked. Then we all laminate how bad our offensive line is. But both Lawrence and burrow are always going to make the first defender miss while keeping their eyes downfield. Most of the big plays come after initially having to evade the pressure. That’s the number 1 factor a qb must possess to be successful imo.

Not at all. The committee got it right. OU was just the shoe in because they survived out of the Utah, Baylor, and OU.

LSU, OSU, and Clemson are on a whole different level than the rest of top 10. No one said crown LSU at all. But it’s foolish to say the playoff needs expanding when the semifinals would have been the same top 3 teams and same results. There is no way anyone thinks the playoff needed expanding this year given the discrepancy of teams 1-3 vs teams 4-10

No, it proved that 4 teams ISN'T enough. Better teams were sitting at home when they could've been in the playoff, had it been expanded to 8 teams.
