CFN Bowl Predictions...

You want respect, you go out and earn it on the field not what you have done in the past. Let the season end and see where we are, no need in getting all wrapped up in this at this time.

I agree you gotta earn respect but also, if the media is gonna make predictions, they should at least have some knowledge of the teams they are making predictions for! I know as excited fans, ready for the season we have a lot bigger expectations for this team than 6-6 but if you know anything at all about this current roster, which CFN should, then you know 6-6 is a bull$hit prediction. Minimum 9 wins and at least a New Years Day bowl will shut these Nancy's up and make them recognize!

I didn't mind this projection. I prefer flying under the radar. I think most people are expecting some variation of the team that lost to Kentucky to take the field on August 31. Maybe slightly better due to experience, but not much better.

I think college football observers are in for a very, very big surprise. This team is much improved since last November. But even so, I don't think our team should get any major accolades until we prove ourselves on the field.

I prefer being the underdog but 6-6 is just ridiculous.

Our roster looks much improved from last year. Our schedule is easier than last year. On paper, at least, those two things would indicate more wins. We shall see how many more.

They actually have Tennessee predicted at 7-5 with a loss to Vandy. LOL.

Scout.com: 2012 SEC Preview - Schedules & Picks

Tennessee isn’t back to being the superpower among superpowers again, but at the very least it’s supposed to be far more dangerous and far more competitive. Instead, the offense came up with seven points or fewer in five of the final seven games. The two games the O did a wee bit better came against Middle Tennessee and Vanderbilt, and on the year, Tennessee went 5-0 when scoring 24 points or more and was 0-7 when going under the mark.

No mention of the fact that 5 of those games the Vols were either starting true freshman Worley or hapless Simms, and Bray was nowhere near form in the 2 he was back for before he was 100%.

Dooley inherited most of the talent he’s using now,

Geez, when did the author write this 2012 preview? 2010?

It really is poorly researched.

Anybody can write for these rags, including people who just sit in their parents' basement and type. They don't follow the team; they just look at last year's record, read that Dooley is on the hot seat and make mindless projections. To them, we're only as good as our last game. That game was a trainwreck, so this is what we're going to get until we give them something better. Reading their uninformed drivel is a waste of time.

One thing is certain, someone is going to be very surprised this year. There is a wider range of expectations around this team than any I have seen in quite some time. I have us going 8-4 plus or minus 1 but I have seen everything from 5-7 to 12-0. Time will tell but I feel pretty good about this season.

I will say 6-6 is complete horses**t. Im not gonna be surprised with anything from 9-3 to an undefeated season. Last year is last year and there's not a doubt in my mind if Hunter didn't go down, we would've been an 8 win team. Now that this group knows what it feels like to have a huge part of the offense go away, i think they will handle it better if it happens again. Not trying to jinx the team just saying IF.
