Celtics vs Heat ECF

You can compare Lebron, and MJ, but they are different players, and I think Lebron should just play PG. He's more like Magic than he is like MJ.Yes Lebron was doing it alone in Cleveland (to a large extent). He's not alone anymore, but even still, they don't have a complete squad. The bench is thin, and they are extremely short on depth underneath.

The biggest criticism I can think of with regard to Lebron is that he didn't make the smart move in going to Miami. Chicago was the perfect spot, and they'd be amazing....I'm talking shooting for 70 wins, and winning titles fairly easily.

serious?

To the bench. Boston is thin too, so there goes that.

I agree.

I think this is appropriate for the miami fans.

What does it matter if they play different positions? It is not like we are comparing center and pg. We are comparing sg and sf.

I thought the reason Lebron went to miami was so he would not have to do it himself? I wonder what the next excuse will be if he does not win one, or two, or three, or four, or five, or six?

Lol...it matters because their games are nothing alike. People like you crack me up. The blind hatred for Lebron people like you have is hilarious. People hate him because he didn't stay in Cleveland where he wouldn't have won a thing. Lebron is the only cat in the league that can put a double double on the court virtually every night and get roasted for it, win or lose.

I don't think Chalmers is a terrible PG but they could upgrade at that spot for sure.

Chalmers is not a PG; never was in high school and never was at KU. He is a jump-shooter who could (until this series) play defense. He is Miami's PG because he is not a better SG than Wade and Spoelstra wants him on the floor.

Miami has a speed and athleticism advantage over Boston; if Spoelstra would just go small (Cole, Chalmers, Wade, LeBron, and Bosh) then I think the old guys on the Celtics would be absolutely gassed by the third quarter.

Agreed. If the Heat would come out and set a fast pace from the get go it would be tough for the Celtics to keep up. The Celtics have controlled the pace the last 3 games and it's because of Rondo. I said a couple pages back this series will rest on Rondo and how he plays. He had the one great game but he is getting 10-15 assists over the last 3 games and when he's doing that, Boston is hard to stop. They are really getting quietly healthier too as this series goes on. That's a big help

I agree.

And if Bosh were 100%, this series would likely be over. Boston's bench is thin, but their big 4 is apparently better than Miami's big 2.

I don't know what that has to do with Chicago. Think about it. You got James and Rose trading off on point, and playing off the ball, with Deng at 3, Boozer or Gibson at 4, and Noah at 5....that's a much more complete starting 5 than the Heat...then factor in that they have one of the best benches in the league. They'd be unstoppable.

lol at thinking lebron needs a PG. I forgot him and wade, two of the best shot creators of all-time, were spot-up shooters.

If you switched rondo and chalmers, heat win in 4.

Lol that you think having a good pg means lebron and wade are spot up shooters.
Learn the game.

I don't care how different their games are you can compare them by the accomplishments they have throughout their careers.

Blind hatred?

Where have I stated I hate lebron? I just agreed with Huffines that he should of went to Chicago. So in fact I don't hate Lebron for not staying in Cleveland

Come up for air.

I would have loved for him to went to Chicago, that would have been a sick lineup. My apologies sir, I have misinterpreted you. I just don't think you can compare the two, they play different positions and play in totally different eras. JMO

Agreed on Lebron and Wade not being spot up shooters, their game is going to the rack. There isn't a defender in the NBA that can stop Lebron going to the rack on a consistent basis IMO

They will be compared because of their elite skill levels, athleticism, and their will to win. Right now, lebron lacks the confidence and will.

I hope he finds it. I like him.

Basketball is cutting and movement. One on one doesn't support it. A penetrating and ballhandling pg opens up cutting lanes and draws the D so the stars get more space.
I feel like there needs to be basketball 101 for some on here. Not you, but some.

I think Lebron has the will, he lacks the confidence, so i agree on that one. There were times last night when he had to knock down a couple free throws that he just flat out missed them. He went 1 of 2 on a couple important ones that would have put Miami up just enough to where it may have put it out of reach.

What killed me last night during the game is when Boston switched to the zone the offense went stagnant and in a bad way. Lebron is the most athletic guy in the league, you beat a zone by driving, solid passing, and cutting like you said, drive and kick to your shooter. The zone Boston was playing last night was soft in the middle, if he would have went middle they would have beat it more times than not.

Watch his release and his heels. You can tell if its going in pretty quickly. He was pulling the string and on his heels on at least 2 I noticed.

It seems like when his heels come up he misses more times than not because the motion doesn't look as fluent. The most inconsistent guy I've seen through the playoffs this year so far has easily been D Wade. Dude has been all over the place.

LeBron and Wade can get to the rim just fine, they don't need a PG to create a lane for them. That's just dumb.

They need better post defense and someone who will hold both James/Wade accountable when they loaf on defense.

A player like Nash would make them a better offensive team because he can shoot and create space by stretching the floor, a slashing PG like say a Parker wouldn't do much for them IMO because he is taking the best asset if both Wade/James away which is them handling the ball and driving the lane.

Stephen A. Smith said it best.

It's Cleveland 2.0, Wade has left him hanging for huge parts of the game.

Wade can't just show up for the last 20 minutes of the game, not when Boston is playing their guts out for 48.

Can you make a comment without calling someone dumb, idiot or another name? It appears you can't so, just listen more, read more and learn the game a little better.
And remind me how many times that Lebron and Wade got to the rack at crunch time last night, or remind me of Lebron's spot up shot in the corner, Wade's off balance long distance shots down the stretch, or Lebrons inability to finish at the rim down the stretch. When they are running, they get there fine. When they aren't running, they shoot j's in half court sets.
Answer this question: If a pg doesn't matter, do the Heat beat the Celtics if they have Rondo and the Celts have Chalmers?
Rhetorical question, btw, so explain to me again that a pg doesn't matter, and explain it to Riley when he goes to get one asap after the season.
I realize its hard to be objective when you are a butthurt fan, but you have to man up at some point.

Of coure they would win with Rondo instead of Chalmers, Rondo is the 2nd best PG in the NBA.

I never said that a PG wasn't important, I just believe they are competant enough there to win.

The difference this series ( other than Wade being a no-show for about every first half ) is that nobody can guard KG.

Would they benefit from having a better PG? Sure. I just think they would benefit more from having better post play as James and Wade can handle the ball well enough to counteract not having a great PG.

Rondo has been so great because they have good shooters spreading the floor and a guy in the post dominating in KG.

When James or Wade create shots for open teammates, they aren't hitting the shots like they were in games 1 and 2 and without Bosh they have nothing down low to turn to.

I agree their half court sets are pathetic overall but I think that is more about coaching and the Celtics defense and defensive gameplan than it is Chalmers not being Rondo.

half court sets aren't as pathetic when you have a pg that knows what to do and how to manage the game and direct traffic. Those D lapses were due to lack of communication. That's a valuable part of a pg's game that isn't in the box score.

Not gonna win a title, but they are all 4 still good players.
