I want to give some props to Cedric Houston. Here's a guy who was hurt at sometime almost every one of his years here but played his tail off. Never really got much props in the media. And he didnt complain when he lost carries to Riggs because it was better for the team. That season, '04, he had one of the more quiet 1000 yards rushing seasons ever.

He went pro and I have been following him. He had a breakout game of sorts against Green Bay this past Sunday, 22 carries for 105 yards and two touchdowns. Way to tear it up Cedric! Another rb in the proud line of Volunteer running backs.

I am happy for him. It never seemed like he lived up to his full potenial at TN but he may be turning the corner in NY. I wish nothing but the best for him.

Wasn't it him that was in a car wreck on I-40 just outside of Knoxville sometime last spring? I believe it was, but either way, it's good to see him doing well...

Career game for Cedric Houston. Very good to see. Maybe he can establish himself as Curtis Martin's replacement.

I had a class with Ced while at UT. He was a really nice guy. I think he'll be a solid player for the Jets.

Yeah, Donte had a big game as well. I didn't play him on my fantasy team because McNabb is out... whoops!

I'll never forget Cedric saving the day for us at SC in '04...Riggs wasn't having a good outing, so Cedric came in and had something like 190 yards rushing; most of that in the 2nd half. A tremendous team-player he was, and I'm glad to see him doing well in the NFL!

Actually the university has people hired to make sure that they attend.

are they students? or are they some type of third party? do theyjust sit in class all the time?

and i was only being somewhat sarcastic. everybody knows they don't go to class at Auburn though.

They're students. I think they get paid a little to check on them.

Your lucky, I live in Fla and to interact with a Vol football player would be awsome.

I also had classes with Kevin Burnett, Steven Marsh, John Henderson, Constantin Ritzmann, Eric Parker, James Wilhoit, Gerald Riggs, Rick Clausen, plus some others that I either can't remember their names or I can't remember them being in my classes.

College was fun.

Wasn't Ced the guy that after he graduated they discovered he had a health issue. I also thought he had some good games last year but they still said he was slow and went and got another RB to replace Martin. Whatever, glad to see him playing well. Go Vols!

Casey Clausen wanted to date one of my girlfriends at the time. she was having none of it. this was an actual conversation she had with him one night at the bar while i was away getting the two of us drinks. it also wasn't the first move he tried to make.

Casey: do you know who i am?
her: no.
Casey: i play football.
her: it doesn't look like it.
Casey: i'm the starting quarterback.
her: so we suck because of you?
Casey: come on.
her: didn't i see you dancing with some guy at Fiction last weekend? (when we saw him there, we swore to god he was)
Casey: i don't dance with guys.
her: got me fooled.
Casey: what's your deal?
her: some dbag won't get out of my face.

he finally got the clue.

Upon his initial NFL physical exam, Cedric was found to have a problem with his thyroid. This caused him to tire very easily. With the proper medication, he has turned into a decent starting NFL running back. Sure wish they would have found out his condition while he was at UT.... I still remember the Miami game in '02 when he was caught from behind.... presumably because he was tired.

It's not like Miami has a tradition of having slow defensive backs.

or it's not like scoring a TD at that point would have changed the outcome of the game.
