You have brought us some very athletic players... You will play an aggressive pressing style of basketball. Help build the momentum by doing some type of Midnight Madness event... Not only would it be a lot of fun, it would help us as fans connect to the players and what you are trying to do with the program.

No reason not to capitalize on the excitement that CDT and staff have already created... as well as, capitalize on the energy of a resurgence in the football program!

They should combine the football and basketball teams into one event somehow. It'd probably be easier to have some of the football team play basketball than vice versa. (edit: unless they played flag football :good!: )

The football version of Midnight Madness is the Orange and White game every spring. No need to combine them.

Do they have a limited # of practices? Would rather they take care of business than put on a show.

Years ago, UT would have intra-squad games at various places across the state. For NE TN, they would normally play in Johnson City's Freedom Hall. Maybe a time or two in Kingsport and Bristol. I'm going back even before the Ernie/Bernie days. I believe it stopped after Ray Mears was no longer coach or soon thereafter.

I would love to see them start doing this again.

They won't combine anything, but they would try to put it on a home football weekend as long as it is pursuant to the NCAA schedule restrictions.

Thanks CBJ & CDT for filling the vol fans with excitement about these 2 sports that had been a source of frustration because of the lack of direction. The vol fans are great fans when they have something to support. GO BIG ORANGE

I believe it went on during the first years of Devoe. I remember going to a game in the early 80's at DB.

With the high risers he has coming a dunk contest would be great! Can you imagine the dunk contest with Zo's team, fail!

Kessling: Here goes Hubbs flying in from the wing for a tomahawk slaaaa ... Oh, I think that was Tugboat Carson that got him at the knees. That sounded terrible. Robert is still writhing on the floor. Oh my.

Bertlekamp: Money!

Kessling: Butch is on the court chest bumping with his players. Now Coach Tyndall is in a confrontation with Butch ...

Bertlekamp: Money!!!

... I don't know. I'm not sure it would work.

Would be a great way to kick off Dunk Mountain (can't have Dunk City if it's already used, right?)
