It's not the pulling of Simms that bothers me-its the play calling. UCLA just hammered TX today with only 27 yards passing. We have known for months Simms sucks, but we never came up with an alternate plan to get yards.

:no:Simms is not getting a lot of help, but think about it...3 of his OL were playing in high school last year. Simms seems to be hanging pretty tough...he's getting beat up pretty good but gotta be tough....just hope he doesn't get hurt. If he does we are going to have 4 to 5 guys that were playing high school ball last year. Then we will have a QB that was in high school last year. Against Lsu , Alabama, So Car. , Ga. etc what would you expect. How would you like to be in the coaches position and have to face that and then have your fans criticizing your coaching, your players, your play calling and allof it coming from guys like you who don't have a clue. Think about it....and watch the knee jerk reactions.

Yeah - poor Jawaun James at 6'7' against the kid who barely would have played on his HS team. Young means nothing. Our scheme sucked. Jamal Lewis was young when he demolished teams. Just put the ball in the hands of your playmakers...i.e. not simms.

If you think starting all new offensive lineman and playing 3 true freshman lineman in Div. I football isn't going to cause some growing pains, you should just quit posting.

It's a world of difference to put a Freshman onto the OL or QB than a Freshman at WR or RB.

I do, too. As talented and deep as this team is, there is simply no excuse for being 2-2.

I know you are being sarcastic - and i agree with you. But lets run the ball every once in a while. the first drive tonight was a thing of beauty. same OL etc etc.

We didn't have enough plays to mix the run properly. We'd gain 4 or 5, then get sacked or commit a penalty and put ourselves in 3rd and long.

You know nothing about football. Very, very few freshman can start on the OL and not get their a beatdown.......

Agreed, so why would you let a rookie QB get you beat? OL is not the same against C USA opponents, but ill give you SEC teams.

Please educate me. Who beat Jawaun today? Name any one on one we lost on the OL. We lost on the blitz and scheme. dont worry about my resume.

I feel exactly the opposite. Dooley and the entire staff seems lost. No reason for even a thought of pulling Simms today. After watching the presser, I feel worse about him as our coach than ever. Ive been behind him till this point, I know were young, etc, but the team wasnt prepared to play today and its on Dooley. For the first time, after watching his presser, and this game, I have serious doubts about DD.

I hope you are not serious. Do you realize how many freshman and walk-ons we are playing? Or what our depth looks like? Prepared or not, you can only do so much with an extremely thin young roster. This does not make Dooley a bad coach. What do you suggest we do? Bring Phil back? He lost to worse teams with a full roster of juniors and seniors.

watching the presser, I now dont blame the Coaches for the swing routes.

Dooley said they switched to cover two to coverthe mesh

so the CBs werent executing.

I really like Dooley, He never throws his players under the bus....Face it, It's going to take some time....Not one year but maybe 2 or 3 to right the ship...Just gonna have to take our lumps and learn from them...I really believe in my heart He will turn it around....I do however wish they would do something with the offense and do something to make it more unpredictable and exciting.

Growing pains isnt the debate. No question there will be growing pains. But there are over 100 teams in D 1 football so i think acting as if all are created equal is a bit of a stretch.

In any event, im not sure what youth has to do with throwing the ball on 95% of first downs, 98% of second downs, and 93% of third downs. Did youth kill us on the opening drive?

Hey, it could be worse. We could be Georgia at 1-3. lol..... They have a full roster, plenty of depth, a long time head coach, and they still suck.

By your estimation, I guess we only ran the ball about twice the whole game.

Long memory you have there. Jamal barely sniffed the field the first four games of his freshman season because the Great Pumpkin didn't trust him. When he did see the field, he had the benefit of being in the same backfield with Peyton Manning and running behind, oh let's see...Chad Clifton, Trey Teague, Cosey Coleman and Spencer Riley.

Simms was the playmaker today. No line, no running game, no defense, receivers dropping the ball and he still threw three touchdowns including a beautiful throw to the back of the endzone in overtime.

Long memory you have to forget FL and Oregon.

Also, how did we do against Florida in 97 without Jamal??

That doesn't even make sense. We don't have Jamal Lewis and an NFL offensive line. How that is hard to understand, I'm not sure. We averaged 3 yards a carry in this game. It's not like there were just gaping holes every time. Try grabbing a clue.
