I just watched CDD's presser on WVLT. He is a great coach and I am so glad he is here. I feel better now listening to him. For one thing he said he thought about pulling Simms.....not just because of him but feeling like something needed to happen and he really thought about it. He also said he probably should have run Neal more. He is doing the best he can with the players we have and like us always looking for a way to win. I like him and I love these guys. I for one was getting frustrated with the attitude of "he is our" guy no matter what. It sounds like with CDD he is willing to look at everything. Knowing that, who ever is out there gets my support....

I know we don't need another thread and hope if this is a problem it just goes into the never land of other bad threads....GO VOLS!!! :clapping:

I am glad Dooleys is our coach. He wants to be here. In time he will get this fixed and have us winning and contending for SEC championships.

I agree Dooley can be a good coach for us. IF we give him a couple of years...I'm just not sure people can be patient enough...

I feel exactly the opposite. Dooley and the entire staff seems lost. No reason for even a thought of pulling Simms today. After watching the presser, I feel worse about him as our coach than ever. Ive been behind him till this point, I know were young, etc, but the team wasnt prepared to play today and its on Dooley. For the first time, after watching his presser, and this game, I have serious doubts about DD.

You're hilarious. I do believe D.Rogers should play more.

I don't think he's "lost". I think he is frustrated to no end. How many times do you have to go over something(blowing up routes, high school penalties)? But when you have players playing too many packages and special teams, it becomes information overload. Still, frustrating to the coach. Besides, I wish I had a dollar for everytime we had a team keep it close that should not be there. Miami (OH) last year, Air Force, Marshall - just to name a few.

Please don't get me wrong, I'm not happy about today, but there is no way to properly evaluate this coaching staff this year. Only 60 people dressing for a home game.......

He's just being sneaky, trying to lull the rest of our schedule into a false sense of security. ..

It's not the pulling of Simms that bothers me-its the play calling. UCLA just hammered TX today with only 27 yards passing. We have known for months Simms sucks, but we never came up with an alternate plan to get yards.

With the O-Line that we currently have...the alternate plan must be to do a hard count every play. We are YOUNG on offense....and it sucks, but that is where we are. I hate having to live with it just as much as you guys do...but there is not a lot of experience on offense...hell, our whole team is young. It will be a while before we are formidable.

Simms played great. His O-line was garbage and led to the high amount of sacks. His receivers were even more garbage, he should have had so many more drives continued, but due to our vagina WR's we always ended up in 3rd and longs.

The defense looked atrocious. My God, we had DE's covering WR's, linebackers just being dragged like a bunch of girls, it was the most pitiful Tennessee defense I have ever seen.

I'm with CDD and all, but how about he does less talking and be a man and do something about it. My God, that was the WORST defense I have ever seen. If it weren't for above-average D-line play and a mentally retarded kicker, Jesus we would have lost by 20.

I like how quotes make all of you so happy. Talk means nothing, NOTHING.

This wasn't the normal lineup, but at least twice I saw:

Rogers, Hunter - true freshman WR's
James, Stone - true freshman OL
The Gooch - Sophmore OL not here in spring
Neal - true freshman RB

So I agree, young is an understatement.
