CCM or Jon Harris the "Mystery Candidate?

I read the message board posted on the first page. They are saying Ben Howland wants the job but Marquette hasn't indicated they want him.

CRAZY

You mean like the day donors start cutting of use of their planes for recruiting?

Thanks for proving my point. I said the day the "fans" who matter (i.e. major boosters) let their voices be known is the day to worry. You sheepishly touted the message board fodder as a reason coaches avoid coming and/or look to leave which I said is ridiculous. Now you're using my point to somehow support your own?

So, is this story/rumor about the donors not letting the bball coaches use the private planes for recruiting true or just rumors?

So coaches don't look at fanbases of schools offering them?

That's completely false.

We are talking about the Strong situation only, I have no concern about the other coaches. You stated Strong, not a generalized statement, but one as it related specifically to Strong. Which is BS.

Let me pull a BTO, Link or Source? Without the Spin.

You will not find it because it was not a basis or part of his criteria.

Your MO is to throw unsubstatiated non provable crap against a wall to see what sticks. What's worse you state for the other to prove it first and turn it into a 180 degree argument. Well I am pulling it back to 360. Prove that it was a criteria.

On the Strong situation, there are reasons that I cannot state nor will I state, but you can rest assure that your assumption is completely wrong regarding Strong. Not a Criteria.

Go find another argument related to Basketball that you know and not what you think you know.

IOW, quit throwing out BS, just for the sake of beating your chest or the sake of an argument or for the the sake of being right or as a person that is in the know because you Got This One Wrong.

I would have never called you out on it had you not been wrong.

You prove that he did.

Jeff Goodman said on a Twitter that the mystery candidate is no longer in the tournament as of last night....so it's not anyone in the Elite 8.

It certainly seems it's Cuonzo Martin...

Or rick Pitino, Tony Bennett or Fred Hoiberg?

Tony Bennett much more likely, from Wisconsin, Plus he's buried in the ACC. Had a great run this year for sure

Yeah right, like he's going to give up a career of being maybe the best crooner ever to coach basketball.

I hope someone takes Martin. Otherwise UT will continue to struggle year after year to make the tournament and maybe get in every few years.

My thought as well. When you see the other names Marquette is considering Cuonzo Martin, and definitely Jon Harris don't look like some ace in the hole they're keeping a secret lol. Bennett makes a lot of sense.

Now we're talking recruiting? I thought this convo was about Cuonzo possibly leaving and/or why other coaches don't come here? I can't keep up with your pick and rolls.

The discussion was how it can negatively effect the program....is recruiting part of the program? Would a more difficult recruiting level than needed not be a reason for Martin to move on?

This really isn't that complicated, all I have been saying is that the over the top negativity/criticism has been in no way good for the program. That's it.

Why are you such a smartass? Everyone knows it's not Pitino, so why even mention him? Bennett and Hoiberg are plausible, except Hoiberg is not leaving and everyone knows that. So that leaves Bennett (makes sense considering who his dad is) and Martin.

How was that a smartass comment?

I mentioned all 4 possible candidates, I've been surprised by coaches before, no reason to omit any names.

If the mystery candidate is one of the 4 losing coaches last night, why not list all 4? No reason to get so upset, are you a Louisville fan or something?

A raise and an extension will go along way toward easing a recruit's mind. CCM deserves that if he wants it. If he decides Tennessee isn't the place for him, then I wish him good luck and a long life. Then we move on to the next coach. No crying on my part.
