CCM contacts SEC officials...

I'm happy that we're getting better calls, but it's ridiculous that this made a difference at all. By adhering to our requests, they are essentially admitting that their officiating is shotty.

Did you think it's been good? Pointing something out and making refs aware works lots of times...

Remember cal speaking to the refs prior to our matchup last year. He was complaining about our ohsical style of play days before we played...sure enough the game was called tight.

Remember this?

Crying IMO.

That's what it was. Crying about fouls in the press rather than blowing up in a game.

I don't think the refs are calling him any differently. Instead of sulking on the bench and lumbering around in the lane Stokes is playing with some of his God given talent.

When he catches the ball he is making big man moves rather than immediately trying to dribble like he did the first half of the season. When he does that he lowers his shoulder and it gets called.

On defense he is moving and his position is night and day better. That cut out the silly reaches and bumping he was doing.

Your pride is making you sound stupid. Cuonzo's approach worked. It worked for the same reason Bruce's approach didn't, Cuonzo isn't trying to show up the refs during the game.

It would take an absolute moron to think Stokes isn't being called differently.

The reason Stokes is playing better is because he's actually playing instead of sitting on the bench because of 2 phantom fouls.

I'm with you right now on Cuonzo's coaching ability. I still haven't seen any evidence that he's a sweet 16 coach, but I think on this issue you're wrong and should just own it and move on.

Agreed on all points, including the last one.

That's because, as usual, you are seeing what you want to see.

There are certain posters that it is so comical when they try and act like they know what they are talking about and they continue to hang themselves. Hilarious, really.

It is comedic entertainment at its finest. Some would rather continue to insist they were right and look even worse than just man up and admit they were wrong.

Feel free to add some commentary and not wise cracks and snaps.

I watch the games and it's pretty clear that cuonzo benching Stokes for being a lazy bum on the court is paying off. I listed specific before and after examples of his play and how it impacted how he was fouling people.

If you want to discuss it fine. But if you want to make wise cracks and not add value to the specific topic, why waste your time?

You didn't list anything specific. There are still players bouncing off of Stokes. He's still reaching and grabbing, but he isn't getting called for the ticky-tack calls like he used to.

And Martin hasn't really benched Stokes. He sat him down for a couple of stretches because Stokes wasn't giving full effort and part of that is because he kept getting into foul trouble for ticky-tack calls and was worried about getting more fouls. Once he was allowed to play his game and the refs didn't call every single little bump then he has gone on a double-double binge. I guess it's just a coincidence that he's gotten double-double after double-double after Martin went to the SEC office? Any person with a half of a brain can see that. Yet, you just want to say Martin was crying because you can't stand him and care more about your stupid "goodbye cuonzo" thread than anything.

I don't disagree with any of the examples you listed. Stokes is playing better and smarter. But the refs are also calling him differently.

I've tried discussing things with you before. Everyone has. I don't know that I'm willing to try anymore. Intelligent though you are, you're so stinking stubborn and, quite simply, you refuse to give the other side any thought or consideration.

Intelligence is debatable. Stinking stubborn is spot on along with other adjectives, but he'd just go cry to the mods. It's funny that he says that Martin cries when that is all he does.

Trust me, I say intelligent only because he is actually capable of putting together a grammatically sound post that, you know, makes sense. It's shocking how many on here can't do that.

But just because it's grammatically correct and makes sense doesn't make it accurate. This guy is still wrong about practically everything. It's amazing.

I'm not saying it's 100% officials. Stokes is his own worst enemy. His post defense still needs a ton of work. When he brings intensity he is almost unstoppable on the offensive end.

He fouled out at Ky and Ole Miss and only had 10 points combined and 9 rebounds combined. Martin then went to the SEC office and he's had a double-double every single game after that. Part of that is he isn't getting called for every ticky-tack and part of that is that Bama, Vandy, Ark, UGA and USCjr don't have the inside games that Ky and Ole Miss have.

Without a doubt. It's a combination of a few things. The opponents, Stokes himself, Stokes' teammates, etc. Of course.

My only argument is that the officials are at least a part of the story.
