Anyone else think that the SEC would be better served with the premier game of the day being at night??? 230 time slot sucks... not to mention the atmosphere on any campus in the sec for a night game is electric....

It's better than the 12:30 games Hamilton scheduled for us this year. Talk about not having time to do much.

Hamilton, except for arguably UAB, had nothing to do with the 12:30 starts. Our pathetic play landed us on JP, instead of the better start times reserved for games of importance.

No broadcast network,(CBS,ABC,NBC, or FOX) is going to eat up 3+ hours of primetime programming each Saturday with college football. They'll show the occasional primetime game, but not on a weekly basis.

Hamilton had to make a decision. Either 12:30 on Saturday or Sunday night. I didn't like his decision, but it doesn't bother me a whole lot.

I know your right, I should prolly be happy they wanted bama so many times... I wish CBS would find some good announcers though....

Well I don't know about you, but I don't live in Knoxville. I have to travel 2 1/2 hours to the game. So in order to tailgate or do whatever, we're talking about leaving at 6 or 7 in the morning. Who wants to tailgate in the morning? I don't. Not to mention sitting in the high noon heat. I thought the players were going to die out there.

Ok, I feel better now.

I wish it had been on Sunday night as well, but inforunately, there were alot of people who complained last year that the game was on Sunday. Can't please everyone.

Eh, none of them really have any good announcers. Would you rather have ESPN's Bob Davie?

I don't really like the 3:30 games (we're in EST time in Knoxville)... even a half hour later would be nice.

I don't mind the CBS, broadcast, but i'm in Charlotte, so they start at 3:30 here and in Knoxville, so it goes right up in to the evening....but i do like the 7:45 pm kicks on ESPN better....

What i would like to see is more options of pre game shows other than college gameday on ESPN...i still watch every Saturday morning, but it'd be nice if CBS or FOX had a competitor for those guys....

Either way, 12.30 kicks got to go.

Night games are usually ESPN and ESPN2 domain. CBS pulls the 3:30 games to cut down on too much interference with local news in all audiences.

Basically networks across the board have to be appeased. The happy medium for the Big 4 are for middle of the day games. ABC goes for early and sometimes later games. CBS likes to split the difference to win over some viewers.

Between viewership, sponsors, time zones, etc. the stations have to try to make as many happy without making more angry.

I agree I went to the Bama/Arkansas game and we had to be there at like 6 to start tailgating and then during the game it wasnt as exciting as a game should be especially one as close as that one was ..... Plus I got sunburned lol...

yeah...i'll tell you what really sucks though...living in charlotte, you have to put up with one more irritating thing...JP also does ACC game of the week too...and they start at noon, on the local CBS affiliate station here...each saturday we play on CBS all i do is pray for NO OVERTIME games on that JP game...cause regardless of what is on CBS at 3.30, you ain't seein' it until that ACC JP game is over, and they do the post game wrap and have 14,000 commericials...

I remember for the 01 TN/Bama game, we had to endure a Wake Forest/NCState game that went in to overtime...it was the middle of the 2nd quarter of the TN/Bama game before they got off the air....i called the TV station, wrote a letter, sent emails....man i was pissed.

you talk about bad... :realmad:

Fortunately you won't have to worry about it...that's what i get for living in the middle of ACC country....

the first year i moved here, i went to a bar on Jan. 2 with some buddies, and they had the UNC/Ga Tech bball game on instead of the Sugar bowl....i knew then i wasn't in "kansas" anymore....living in Memphis, Knoxville, and Atltanta, i never had to deal with competition like that....

Find better announcers who maybe have SEC ties and quit making the game 4 1/2 hours long with their 10 minutes of commercials every 5 minutes. CBS is fricking unbearable to watch.

No complaints here about the 2:30 games on CBS... works fine for me. Get to see an early game on ESPN/ESPN2/ABC at 11 followed by a good SEC game at 2:30 leading into ESPN/ESPN2's Saturday night game.
