CBS Sports Is Bullish On Tennessee Going Into The 2020 Season

He has Florida winning the East and going 11-1, with only loss to UT.

That's kind of hard to figure. We are supposed to beat UGA and LSU, but lose to UT?

Not excited about your 11 but love the 1 in this scenario.

Well sure, see App State vs. Michigan.

But the notion that we would beat both LSU and UGA but lay an egg at Tennessee just seems far fetched to me.
Not really. That kind of stuff happens all the time. Look at the NC year under Tebow where you lost to Ole Miss. Predicting it is tough but they see us as a team on the rise, you guys are on the road, and it’s early in the season. I think it’s them just trying to pick an upset and that scenario seemed to line up to them.

I mean that's college football in a nutshell though isn't it?

Predictions for teams playing at that level is jut a crap shoot for a paycheck. Anything and everything will and can happen in those games. My personal opinion is the biggest question mark for the season will be on LSU.

Logic would dictate you would be right. Under Spurrier, I'd say the chance of UF laying an egg almost nil. If ya'll pull a GA then yeah, you'd lay an egg on a game you shouldn't.

I feel like LSU has gotten a lot of disrespect this off-season.

People are talking like they're just gonna lay down.

They should 100 percent still be in the SEC championship picture. They always have such ridiculous talent.

However, we also know how bad QB play has derailed them in the past.

I do not disagree. I'm all orange first. But, my dad even though from TN, put food on our table for 30 plus years as a loyal employee of UGA, and they were loyal to him. And, my wife is a Louisiana woman and LSU fanatic as much as I am UT. I believe they will be as tough as always. I just think that in that upper circle of teams in the SEC with the roster losses to graduation and drafts, LSU (and by that same logic Bama for the first time in years), would maybe have a question mark till we see what they found for step-in replacements.

Oh they certainly do have a question mark!

Bama ought to as well.

We know for a fact both teams will be worse at the QB position.

One thing I've learned about LSU. Never discount the power of raw defense. Their D has kept a lot of teams behind their slack O on the scoreboard for a long time.

That schedule is candy, especially with a weakend LSU, I predict Florida to win the east but will suffer at least one conference loss, hopefully it is from UT.
It’s funny how different things look to us as fans. If you take the UT-UF game out of the mix when comparing our schedule and theirs it really isn’t that different. At OU appears to be tougher than at FSU and Bama is likely a little tougher than LSU but the schedules aren’t that far apart. UF is projected to be better than us so that makes it a wider gap overall. I do think UF is the team to beat in the East because of their schedule. They can lose to UGA and still win the East. UGA has Bama and Auburn from the West plus they sometimes trip up against someone else like SC or UT.

I think FSU will surprise people in 2020 and go 8-4 in their first season with new head coach Mike Norvell.

Not sure about Fla because of mental block we seem to have but I genuinely believe we beat Ok la.. Think the defense comes up big and offense does just enough..

Lincoln Riley is probably the best offensive mind in CFB. They will have players running wide open due to their scheme confusing our defense. If their QB can make the correct reads then he will pick us apart.

I honestly think OU sees our game as revenge for how badly LSU beat them. After that game the national narrative was OU would have a losing record if they played in the SEC. OU sees this game as a way to prove that narrative wrong. We will get the effort they normally reserve for Texas and OK State.

Here are the 2020 College Sports Madness College Football Bowl Projections. They predict Tennessee will play Iowa State in the Texas Bowl. They must think Tennessee will go 8-4 if they predict them to play in the Texas Bowl.

WELL! There it IS! South Alabama will have taken the starch out of them!!

Well, last year Florida was in knockdown drag-outs with Miami and Kentucky before they played UT. Jabari Zuniga came out of Miami game banged-up, Amari Burney hurt something to the point where he wasn’t the same all year and several other key bumps and bruises. And of course the starting Qb was lost for the season v Kentucky which left a dude who hadn’t made a live start in about 7 years the following week v UT . So I don’t think UF’s pre-Tennessee schedule matters one way or another.

Seems to be a recurring theme. Florida in top 5 to start the season with a more than reasonable chance to make playoff.

We're going to have one of the best pass defenses in the country this season, I don't see them having players running wide open, especially young WRs, Taylor and Thompson will eat them up. Safety play may be a bit young but I think they are really talented. If we out rush Ok I think we'll pull off the upset, if their new QB throws it to us instead of them a couple of times then we'll win easy I think. They are going to have to be great offensively to beat us.
