Well I guess the non-believers will get to watch the Vols from their couches LOL

SEC requires face coverings for fans at games
Not exactly. Sounds like if seating distancing is set to the magic 6' measurement, masks will not be required while seated per the SEC but I suspect some local authorities will not allow that to stand and require them at all times.

"Face coverings (over the nose and mouth) shall be required as a condition of all guest ingress, egress, and movement throughout the stadium, as well as any time guests are unable to maintain the recommended physical distance from others who are not in their same household," the league's guidelines said.

There is a difference between believing and willing to take and accept risk and not believing.

I believe. I’m just not concerned enough that I would avoid the risk. So, if I am somewhere and people are wearing masks, cool. If I am somewhere and people are not wearing masks, I’m cool with that too.

Also looks like tailgating will be left up to each institution so it may allowed in some form. That would good. Tailgating is just part of CFB,
I've slept since then....seems to me that I read an announcement from UT saying "no tailgating on campus this year." Again, not sure where I got that from or why that's in my memory.

Well stated.

I'm not infected so me wearing a mask does not protect anyone else from anything. If you are infected, be a good human and stay away from people. That way the rest of us can go about our lives as normal. It's really pretty simple. Many don't grasp the concept however.

Many if not most fans will remove their masks or pull them down under their mouths about midway through the first quarter. Will be fun watching the networks literally flip out and demand these people be arrested.
If it's anything like the Nashville Fairgrounds races, they will have people patrolling the stands telling you to pull that mask back up. The workaround is to just constantly have a cup or food in your hands. That or just be a hottie (that's from my noticing the mask patrol dude at the track never telling this one girl to put her mask on despite not eating or drinking).

My sentiments exactly. Nicely stated.

Sheep like mwavolfan where their masks while driving.

Based on his logic, he should wear his mask for flu season every year. Ill wear a mask if i have to but minimally. I'll wearcthe mask going in the stadium but will be off quickly.

That was clarified later and means no university organized tailgates on campus like what typically occurs at Circle Park. There has yet to be a decision on private tailgating in parking lots/garages.

UT clarifies status of tailgating plans for this season

Not sure this is one fight a local politician wants a bite of.

I think you have thousands upon thousands that are fully willing and desirous to attend.

Knoxville's Covid response including the mask mandate has been driven by the Knox County Board of Health which only has one politician, the mayor, on it. The rest of it is comprised of the Knox county school board superintendent and appointed doctors, nurses, pharmacists and vets.

Also, when voting on the mask mandate, they ignored the county's attorney telling them the mandate was unconstitutional. If they're willing to pass illegal mandates and are not answerable to anyone for their decisions, I wouldn't hold out much hope for them being worried about the fans being in Neyland.

I think you are ignoring that you are contagious up to 14 days before you start feeling symptoms unless you are going to take a COVID test the day before every game you go to.

I get all that. The other mayor has been egging them on every step of the way.

But your points are valid. We have non elected officials making policy.
