CBS poll top 130 is Tenn to low

We're a top 25 team in talent.
Haven't shown it as of yet.

5 of our former starter went to BETTER programs and are starting there. Even though we were 3-7 with them.

After week 3 everyone will be taking about the Tennessee Vols.
I thought we were in the top 25 in recruiting, even though we lost a lot. I do believe we will see a better performance with this team that we haven’t seen in a while. This may warrant a lot of talking by week three. If we do what we think, then yea. We may see a surprise coming, and then more out of this team. We can only hope.

I'm on record saying the Pitt game is a big test for this team. I'm hopeful, went from 6-6 to 7-5 as prediction, hoping we get Pitt and Miz or KY but if we don't get Pitt it'll be a long season.
Oh, I think we can beat Pitt. I don’t think that our coaches will be like Pruitt coaches. I think we will be ready for them. We do have new excitement already. Our boys are ready I believe for the 1st two games. They are fired up and ready to go, is the way the feeling is.

The AP poll has head-to-head games and win-loss records to go by. This silly listicle just wants to draw eyeballs. There is no substance to it and nobody can predict such a thing. It offers the illusion of expertise, but actually has no predictive value whatsoever.
I think the CBS poll has always been close to the top 25. I’ve always liked the cbs poll though.I was looking earlier at this poll, and saw Tenn at 68th and just thought it was to low.

This team had 3 wins all of last season. That's your numbers until you change them. The ol' Darrell Royal quote applies here methinks, "Potential means you ain't done it yet."
No we haven’t done it yet. We can change that with the 1st two wins. Going into Florida undefeated will be interesting at least.

I think the home field will help a lot and I hope a big BG win gives us momentum but Pitt will be a big challenge. A solid win would be very very welcome.

Just to believe that Pitt is a huge game for us for the 2nd game is unusual when you have Florida lurking. I’m going to say that Pitt, along with others say it’s a huge game, and they may be right. A good win over Pitt is needed to just get something started. It would sure look good going into Florida with confidence. Their confidence could carry over right into Florida. That would be where our fan base may be fired up just a little with the gators. I do want to be fired up for that game, but cautiously as well.

I think we're closer to 40, seriously, but I understand the skepticism about TN. We've been in a skid, we've made wholesale changes, the portal loss was pretty big...... there's not a really compelling reason to give TN a "legacy SEC team boost" in the pre-season ratings. We gotta earn it.

Have you ever seen a Cajun when he really got mad? When he's really got trouble like a Coach gone bad...... it gets real hot, down in Louisiana.
No, I haven’t see that. 😂 I know it can get hot down in Louisiana though. If you are talking about LSU, then yea, I do see that. Man that would be embarrassing to get that hot.

FL gets us after getting Bama.

They may get seriously woodchippered at home by Bama and be either seriously pissed or beat down.

I'm gonna hope for the latter.

I think 40 may be closer, but really, I was thinking maybe 35 honestly. Are we a top 35? Yea, I think so. Is 68 to harsh? Yea, I think it’s. As to earning it, we can, and we can climb up a lot with our first two wins.

You know, I totally forgot that they play Bama, then us. Either a team that gets beat by Bama usually goes on a winning streak, or absolutely collapses. It’s going to be interesting to see where Florida stands the day after playing them. They could be vulnerable, or like you said, they’re going to be either fired up, or just so beat down that we getem. I believe that they are going to see a dreaded fired up team from Tenn. though, and we are going down to play hard. I wonder if they will dread that fired up team in us right after Bama?

It's at the Swamp. They're not going to want to lose two SEC games in a row at home.

I'd love to be a GBO homer but..... c'mon, they're simply not going to lose two SEC games in a row at the Swamp. Mullen, well.... parts of him, might be found face down in an Everglades canal if that happens.

Nobody on earth right now can predict who is the 68th best team versus 69th or 70th or 67th, etc. Certainly not the so-called "media" who actually aren't very knowledgeable about real football but just indulge in group think within their echo chamber. List-making appeals to the human psyche, so nonsense like this gets clicks, but this is basically just entertainment, not anything actually related to reality as it will be played out this season. You can safely ignore stupid pieces of pseudo-journalistic entertainment like this, it means nothing.
True, it means nothing. These people have consistently overrated us the last several years and are probably just tired of being burned by us.
