Auburn vs. Tennessee score: Volunteers notch signature win as Tigers continue to freefall

An Excerpt:
"When you combine Guarantano's newfound confidence and a wide receiving corps that looked like one of the best in the conference Saturday afternoon, you have a recipe for success. Jauan Jennings and Marquez Callaway were already known commodities for the Vols, but Josh Palmer continued his work as the ultimate big play threat with three catches for 84 yards. That gives Palmer 11 catches for 284 yards on the season -- a whopping 25.8 yards per catch.

Tennessee needed this win, earned this win and deserved this win."

Pruitt did say we would see a difference team in October and he was right. Looked better on the road at Georgia and now a win at Auburn. Hopefully we can stay competitive at least against Alabama.
Exactly. For some who wouldn’t or maybe couldn’t see that this team was improving this should help them. We were trying to inch forward a little at a time but this leaps us forward a lot. There no question we still have major problem areas but this should be a qualifier for CJP. Still hard going forward for sure.

Auburn ends up 6 and 6 this season so it want look as good later but will look good to me always.

If they end up 6-6 on the season, we'll have contributed to their record and their decline, by beating them in their own house, and breaking our SEC/SECw/ranked team losing streaks over their collective backs.

Wolf got as high as he could and it was enough. Actually that was a HUGE play in the game.

I thought those 2nd and 3rd down plays in that series, with Wolf catching that key 3rd down pass, showed us what we can probably expect from this staff as they continue to trust the offense to do more. Rather than get conservative with the 10 pt lead late in the game, they trusted JG and the receiving corp and put the ball in the air rather than 3 runs between the tackles. That shows trust and confidence by the staff in those guys. And shows definite progression.

Said the exact same thing (basically) to my brother when we were watching that drive. I loved the gutsy play calls there.

Truth. These guys look very different than the team that started out vs WVU, ETSU and UTEP. Maybe FLA was the “what do you want to be, how do you want to be remembered” moment for this team. GBO!

I was also very proud of Ty Chandler, he has proven he has game and heart and he's a real threat receiving the football
