"It will probably take 5-7 or worse for the monied Vols boosters to pony up the $12 million or so to buy Jones out."

Not sure the people in charge care enough about winning to do a change anyway. As long as the seats are mostly filled and money is coming in they are happy. Even if they did we would hire poorly again anyway.

As for butch, there is no way any rational person who knows football can defend this game.

I've said this ^^^^over and over.
Our only real hope for winning anytime soon was for coach Butch Jones to "take the next step" in his coaching ability because he's gotten athletes here.
From all the evidence we've seen it doesn't appear that Butch Jones has a next step

The only solace I have is that the more chances he gets to blow games like this, the odds of him being cast out increase.

:rock:How did CBJ blow the game when the QB throws 3 interceptions, throws either behind or over his receivers at least 3 times, holds the ball too long and gets sacked more than once or gets a 15 yard penalty for flaunting or has 5 consecutive penalties when at the Florida 2-yard line. Somewhere on this site a fan has posted a picture of a UT player being held by his jersey keeping him for getting to the Florida QB on the last play of the game. There was poor officiating in several instances like when a UT lineman was literally tackled in front of an official in the Florida backfield...no penalty either. A defensive back capped it off by letting the Florida receiver get behind on the last play. This UT team has plenty of talent with plenty of freshmen too.

Exactly UT doesn't care about winning on or off the court. Thats why we have yet to make any progress in either of the "revenue generating" sports nor have we reached the goal of being a top 25 public institution. I get we are suppose to support the players but they are grown men and will understand why the stadium is half full

Man get out of here why do you go cover 2 on the last play of the game when you know they goung deep. Secondly yes QD threw 3 picks but why are you going spread on the 1 yard line we all know he isn't at that level of QB yet?!?! Lastly why do they continue to run the options with a pro-style QB?!?! Everyone knows he's not going to keep it cause he's slow

Similar to pilots with a flight simulator, they need to create a game simulator with thousands of situations and have him go through them.

You run the ball on 1st and goal from the 1/2 line yard. Don't get creative.

You run the clock out with 1st and goal down 3 points with 1 minute and 3 timeouts left. You don't pass 3 times. There is no excuse to explain why UF should have the ball back. There never should have been a last play for UF.

I remember other situations, kicking an extra point up by 12 in the 4th.

That was a tough way to lose. I'm not giving up hope. Yes there were miscues we can point to on the field and bad coaching decisions, but heck, the East is wide open. Florida is gonna lose a few games. If the staff adjusts, which I'm confident they will, and handle business in conference, we'll be fine. The sky ain't falling yet.

The team is ultimately a reflection of the coaching they receive.

5 years in. If you don't see anything wrong, that's on you.

A 5th year head coach is regressing in the worst division of any power 5 conference and you think he's the next General Neyland. Quit accepting this sorry asses mediocre results, just because he's ok with the results doesn't mean we have to be.

This... They don't care about what the fans want. I think Butch needs to go. I don't believe this weekend is the time to do it. It doesn't matter though. Bottom line, if the admin doesn't commit to fielding a championship level program, then you might as well keep Butch.

I'm not giving up either. Unfortunately, about 90% of VN has.

Flaunting is now a penalty? What about vamping or posing?

The only way Butch makes up for this is to beat the rest of the teams on our schedule including Bama. Anything else and he is not making another year.

Wow.. this guy is oblivious.

1. Butch Jones calls 3 pass plays on the 1 yard line. The first pass is almost an interception and Butch decides do do it again which leads to an interception.

2. With 1 minute left in the game we are already in the redzone and just need a touchdown to win. We throw the ball and stop the clock 3 times! Florida only had 2 timeouts. We had the chance milk the clock and kick the field goal if we couldn't get in the end zones.

3. 9 seconds left and an obvious passing situation. Butch puts 2 people back and no one is there to cover the receivers.

4. At the end of the game Butch says hindsight is 20/20 which pissed me off even more. I was screaming during the game to QB sneak on the 1 yard line. Wth is wrong with this man?

He chose to leave that QB in the game.

You haven't been paying attention to our university.
If Dooley doesn't have the Kentucky fiasco he's the coach for a couple more years and how long did it take to fire him after Kentucky?
If Butch Jones makes a bowl game he's not getting fired.

Again.....this is not what we the fans want....it's what our university does

Two of those picks were not QD's fault. You can blame his receivers for those.

You hire real QB coach and not a grad assistant!!! You change your scheme to match your personnel. You just call high percentage plays, offensively and defensively!!

To your first comment.

In what alt universe does it make sense to have Dormady putting it up 39 times with John Kelly getting 19 carries.
