CBS-Bold prediction -- CBJ out before november

It says he is on the "hot seat" and nothing else. It certainly does not state that he will be out by November, but only that it is possible for those six.

I'm guessing that unless Currie is one of the negas posting here regularly that Jones isn't on a "hot seat". And that sports "journalists" actually know a lot less than they think they do.

Good point. Is UT even a football school anymore. That question needs to be answered.

Alabama is still a football school even after losing 9-11 including 7 straight to UT and 7 straight to AU before 06. Short term memory loss is somewhat treatable. Relax. CFB cycles.

I hate the month of June. That is when we see we have way too many sports journalists, and we get crap articles like this. Bold prediction? We read this crap every year. At least these twerps are consistent.

Since you are in India, do something useful for a change. Find one of those computer virus scam call centers that is pissing everyone off, and beat the Hell outta the first employee you run into. You got too much time on your hands.

Just read the article and thought I'd share... had no idea about the writer. Just wanted to get thoughts of fellow volunteers...
I actually like your idea about the call centers... just might do that one of these days.. lol..

An air horn app for your phone - or even better a virtual air horn app that digitally wrecks the equipment in the call centers.

It is not only wins and losses that cause a coach to either be sent packing or move on.

Stoops has left OU, was this prediction before that? Does he count as 1? Freeze could be gone depending upon what is passed down on Ole Miss. They may need to let him go and that would have nothing to do with wins/losses on a football field. The CU coach is in a little hot water right now. As long as nothing else surfaces he is probably okay.

Then you have Louisville - if the basketball program was doing it and the AD was behind it well did the football coach also know?

Jones is not on the hot seat. No doubt he was added because the writer knew that a group of Tennessee fans would click the article and react.

You all are being trolled daily and don't even recognize it - then again maybe you do and don't care.

Jones i's 14 on coaching hot seat ranking last time I checked a few days ago. Seat is very warm probably gonna catch fire if the experts turn out to be correct. BTW they are experts for a reason.

I'm sure you've got the lotion and paper towels ready.

It reads like its that the experts say it so it must hold water. When the reality is it solely depends on what butch does with whatever opportunity exists for him that will determine his fate.

At best its a hedged bet on how the season may turn out, based on current temperament of what they think the fans are at a given point in time.I think it's warm based on how last year turned out, and that some other portion of the fanbase can be turned if the season goes a particular way.

If it goes well then the pressure relieves, and those wanting him gone will be in the minority.

I think while the hot seat talk is good fodder in the off season, it's most likely he would actually be on the hot seat next season should this season be status quo, or a little worse.

So as with everything else, we'll wait and see.

Experts--Hmmm, how many got the election right? I rest my case. Compare their predictions to the end of season results & that tells you just how expert they really are.

The only way I could see CBJ being let go before the end of the season would be if he was clearly failing to meet Currie's expectations and there was another coach UT wanted to get a jump on hiring. That's not a likely scenario, IMO, but I also don't think he'll be automatically spotted two years. I think Currie has certain expectations and goals for this year and CBJ needs to meet those to earn another year. It's set up for him to succeed; he just needs to capitalize on opportunities and make it happen.

Here's another bold prediction. Let Tennessee wipe out GT say 35-17 then win game 2, then go down to the swamp and come out with a win there, then beat Georgia for a 3rd time. You'll see these same experts puttin out narrative like CBJ and Tennessee on a roll!

I agree with your post. I am relying on his past actions, what we lost to graduation/draft, and the schedule to form my opinion on what will happen. Others are relying on hope that new staff, returning injured players, freshmen, and underachievement by historically good rival programs will cause us to overcome the conventional wisdom. It'll all play out on the field. I just have a knee jerk reaction to the preposterous notion that Jones transcends the program and will somehow be coach here for so long as he wants to be.
