CBS-Bold prediction -- CBJ out before november

It's almost to the point here I hope Butch gets fired just to get some of the posters here to STFU. Careful what you wish for.

Haha. I'm sure you don't really mean that, but I do understand. I've entertained the same thought.

Where did it predict Butch Jones, or anyone else would fired by November?

He predicted 5 coaches would be fired, then listed 6 that are currently on the hot seat. We all know those are, and others he did not bother to mention. He didn't predict any specific coach would be in the 5. What is so outrageous about that?

Seems like some of the posters here are making this news, not the writer of the article.

Seems you are missing the point. Allow me to enlighten you. The dingle brain who started this thread made that assertion in the subject. Most of us chose not to click on the link, because the more people who do so tells them we want more such articles.

It's typical June horse crap. Just because you cleverly try to justify it doesn't change that fact. All you really did was put Kool Whip on horse crap. That doesn't make it dessert, does it? If you think so, bon appetite.

I'm honestly in awe that Ole Miss hasn't yet found it prudent to part ways with Freeze

They'll never find a better coach or a more loyal guy to the program. That's a reality that would make me hesitate. Freeze is one guy that would never leave Ole Miss, unlike 99.9% of all other coaches.

No coach's name is stated with certainty in the first sentence or anywhere else.

In the last sentence it clearly has 6 listed. CBJ is last. Didn't go to link. Just read the OP.

"At least five Power Five coaches will not make it to November: That's a lot of fives. We are in a day and age now in college football where schools refuse to wait before making a coaching change -- or, at the very least, get the process started. Les Miles was infamously fired by LSU last September after losing to Auburn when he probably should have been released after the end of the 2015 season. October is the new December and there are a number of coaches on the hot seat entering this season...."

Which coach is he predicting to be fired?

5 out of those 6 is the way most people read it. I could be wrong, I'm old and senile.

I don't even see this guy's prediction as particularly bold.

The opener against Tech is a game that Tennessee should win but is by no means a sure thing. If we drop that one and then lose to either/both Florida or Georgia, which aren't games Tennessee necessarily should win, then I think we all know that Butch's seat would be thermonuclear. If we are 2-3 going into the bye, would they fire him? I don't think it is totally out of the realm of possibility.

I actually think we can lose to Tech, Florida, Georgia, Alabama, and LSU and he keeps his job, but only because of the buyout. Butch's floor is 6-6. If he does any better than that, I think he stays.

I'm not really sure who "they" is. Honestly, I'm speaking for myself here. I wish I knew why Haslam was so set on Currie. As I've said before, I'm ignorant on the whole "big donor" thing. What's in it for Haslam? What does he "get" or expect in return?

In my ignorance, I may not be asking the questions in the right way or even asking the right questions, but I do know Haslam has more "influence" than I thought he did before hiring Currie and I just wonder what he's thinking.

Anyway, just "thinking out loud".

We had a very good class coming last year. Then we didn't. I'm not counting a single freaking chicken that isn't solidly in the coop.

I hear ya. Stuff like this doesn't help. I do believe Cade Mays is helping recruit Tennessee talent and the 18 class will be special. Also Butch has made some good hires. If another coach is needed to take us to the next level then bring it.

"They" = Currie and his associates in the AD, in consultation with boosters

On the field, Freeze is as good of a coach as Ole Miss can find; however, his loyalty only extends to his bottom line. He's the same guy that rode the Michael Oher recruitment into his first college coaching job. If Florida wasn't scared off by the NCAA whispers a couple of years ago, Freeze would be coaching the Gators, not the SharkHumper.

We hardly got done with this exchange and Delong flips to Bama. Why anyone would assume anything with this group baffles me.

Maybe your reading comprehension needs as much work as the "dingle brain that started this thread". I did not miss the point, your point is exactly the point I was making: The article does not support the assertion of the OP.

Your second paragraph is useless, does not add to the conversation, and frankly runs a close second in ignorance to the "dingle brain that started this thread".

Yea I understand that much, I guess my question is more like if one group was hell bent on firing Butch after the Bama game and the other group wanted to wait until the end of season, who pulls the trigger?

I might just be over thinking it too.

IMO, four of the six are already half-gone-- in their own minds or their school's. Mora wants to return to the NFL, and he'll probably follow Rosen out of Westwood. Kelly's agent was testing the waters last year. Freeze is staring down the barrel of a show cause, and after Woodward publicly gave Sumlin the "win now" edict, aTm is probably waiting for the right loss to fill in the date on the buyout. If Auburn falters, Malzahn might join that list. Auburn has tended to have less patience than UT.

There are a few landmines that could get CBJ fired this year-- but I'm sure he knows to avoid them.

Best suggestion of the year. Pr+@Ks supposedly representing a company like Dell selling malware and scamming you on the side. I have a friend who was new to computers that got the shaft right up the wazoo.

I don't know about them claiming to represent any brand of computer, but they do suggest they "work for windows", ergo they try to convince people they are a Microsoft service company. They especially target older folk.

The thing people need to know is Microsoft's policies prohibit authorized service providers from calling you. There are legitimate service call centers out there, but you have to call them.

When they started calling me, I just told them my nephew does my computer maintenance, and that's the truth. I called him, and he gave me the heads up on it. They still call me, and if I have nothing going on, I waste their time. The tell me to type in www, and I say double u double u double u. Sometimes, I imitate an 8 year old who say, "You Talk Funny." a lot. Others a 90 year old with severe hearing loss. After about 10 to 15 minutes, they cuss me and hang up.

The topic was the OPs subject, not the useless article.

You clicked on the stupid link and I didn't. So, you calling me ignorant is almost a compliment.

Oh, and just in case you missed it.........:finger3:
