I don't see the Vols making a run for the East Title next year....but I could be wrong.

Top 25 would be nice, and 8 wins.

As funny as it sounds, win the LSU game and finish UNC off in the bowl and your 8-5 in 2010. Top 25, maybe not, but not out of the realm of possibility

Cuz Matt Simms would be given the benefit of the doubt for the rest of the season based on one big win.

I do not see us winning the SEC East next year but I could see maybe 9 wins. We return Poole, Bray has a year under his belt now, Rogers and Hunter has became accustomed to the offense, but more importantly on offense is the O Line is that more experienced. On D, it will be hard to replace Reivez but shouldnt be impossible. Big strides will be made in 2011 but I still think we are 1 to 2 more years out of being in contention again.

I'm not sure if I agree with this or not, but it is good to see the Vols written about in a positive light for a change.

You're not giving the coaching staff the benefit of the doubt about knowing what's happening on the football team.

We are going to be younger next season than we were this year.

We are going to be younger next season than we were this year.

In one or two areas, younger, but overall, no, not younger, especially if Martin and King are ready to come back and contribute on the D front 7.

I have a hard time seeing a run for an East title because our West slate is significantly harder than our competition's. We get LSU, Alabama, and Arkansas (all of whom will likely be preseason top ten), whereas Carolina gets Arkansas, Auburn (should fall off), and MSU and Georgia gets MSU, Auburn, and Ole Miss.

But I would not be shocked to see us beat anybody in the East. Florida is going through transition, Georgia is a mess, and we actually played South Carolina pretty well this year (and we get them at home next year).

If we won the LSU game I doubt we would have made a bowl game.

Even if the result were that Bray never became the starter, Simms would have at least beaten Memphis and Vandy. Assuming we still would have lost the other three October games (UGA game was over before it started because of how the LSU game did finish), we would have only needed to split the Ole Miss and KY games. I can't find your logic here.

I have no basis for what I say now but I have a sneaky suspicion that we are going to end up with a decent NSD group, thrown into the mix several key surprise transfers and two or more JUCO's ready to roll. It's just random stuff I've seen here and now that gives me that feeling the UT is going to get a push that makes us far more competitive sooner than we or anyone else anticipates. So I stand by what I said before, we're going to sneak in a 10-2 season to everyone's shock. It's going to be the defense additions that benefits most. I repeat, I have no real basis for this. Just random comments and bits and pieces, reading between the lines, and they way certain states are phrased in various online sites I've nosed around.

I think 8-5 would be fantastic. The article states that is possible and I think so as well. But 10-2 would be a spectacular season and one I think only you may expect..GBO

I hope u r right..LOL
