CBS accidentally leaks schedule

I thought the games were picked on the Tuesday before the game.

So, for the sake of argument if Tennessee & Alabama come into their game both highly ranked and say either Georgia or LSU has fallen off the map (making the Tenn v. Bama the premier SEC game that week) can't CBS go to that game.

I thought that was the whole hub bub over the Tenn v. Bama game last year. They were trying to decide where they wanted to go and had some kind of extension to Wednesday to decide. Maybe I got so drunk that Saturday night they beat us I totally forgot the week before? Wasn't that the case?

ESPN has been known to make some...interesting choices for their game slots in the past. I'm telling you, if Alabama & Tennessee are not in the national spot light, and UF is, it won't matter that they are playing Kentucky. ESPN will pick that game up so they can showcase UF.

That's true, if Tebow is having a great year, and UT and Bama are both outside the top 10, they would most likely rather show him running up his stats against a weak UK team.

ESPN gets a couple of priority picks over CBS throughout the season. Meaning they get to pick the game they want before CBS. The 9/20 weekend is one of those games where they chose to have LSU/Auburn at night. I really wish we had the Gators at night. Is it too much for CBS to schedule a primetime game each weekend opposite the ABC game? SEC in primetime is the way it should be.

Also I found this the other day. I hope you guys/gals enjoy and it gets you guys even more ready for the season to start:

You sure about that? If I was CBS and had a contract with the SEC I'd make sure I had first dibs each week no matter what. I thought it was a pecking order of CBS, ESPN, Lincoln Financial, PPV, No TV.

They may not get a COUPLE picks, but I know that they at least get one pick for SEC games during the year. I was suprised by this also.

the main question I have is what happened to the Auburn v. LSU game. i thought that was the main reason the Florida game was going to be an afternoon start, so that game would be the night kickoff, but it doesn't seem to be on the CBS schedule at all.
there's one or two dates that CBS has a double header, a game at 3.30 EST and 8 EST......that may be the 2nd part of the double header that weekend....i don't see any prime time games listed in the schedule posted.......
The Alabama game will be on ESPN at night. There is no way Tennessee/Alabama goes to Raycom two years in a row.
a quick look at the rest of the schedule that saturday.......

KY @ FL--can't discount the tebow/meyer/harvin draw.....

Bama @ TN....'nuff said

Ole Miss @ Ark

Auburn @ West Virginia.......now, if that's on ABC at 3.30, i like our chances on ESPN.....but i can see this game on ESPN primetime.

Actually ESPN does get first choice picks on selected weekends. They pay CBS an insane amount of money for a couple first picks

i believe that's what i said.......right now ESPN does get some 1st choices...i'm not sure if ESPN bought that right from CBS or not, i originally thought it was a secondary deal done with the SEC.....

but the new contract with the SEC And CBS gives CBS all 1st choices for all weekends....

I don't know the exact details, but I believe that usually CBS has to pick its game about a week and a half in advance. They get a very limited number exceptions -- twice a year, maybe? -- when they can hold off on deciding until the week of the game. In general they have to declare what they're going to do well ahead of time.

I hate CBS broadcasts. Gary Danielson is a horrible announcer and there's too many damn commercials. At least 1/4th of our games on CBS...UGH! :banghead2:

You guys all keep talking about it ending up as a night game, but is it possible that UT/Bama could end up as one of the afternoon games on espn?

no, i think they have a deal with the Big 10 to show games during the day? i don't recall ever seeing anything other than Big 10 or Mac or something during the day (12 noon - 3 or 4 o'clock)......

depending on the Aub/WVU game, this might wind up on ESPN2 or something....

The AU vs LSU game is Sept. 20th as well as our Big One, but UGA plays ASU at 8pm also. Because of that where does the LSU AU game fit in. The SEC will want to have equal coverage for all of these HUGE games and because of that I don't see them putting the Tigers game at night either.

This is a Thursday night game from what I saw on ESPN.com earlier today.

really needed UGA game to be night game...that blows...
wife gonna be mad when i skip wedding she is in that day.

No one is pointing out the obvious about the UGA game being during the day...right in the middle of Brewers' Jam! Someone really needs to talk the Brewers' Jam people into a screen for that day. I know there are bands and all, but c'mon.

Oh man, that could be trouble. A screen out there would be awesome! I remember discovering Hacker Pschorr Weisse Dark there last year and napping on a blanket for about an hour.

Just give me the Hacker again, plus a giant screen of the Vols whooping up on Georgia again (hopefully), and that's just about as good as it gets!

There is still a chance the UGA game is at night, a small one, but a chance. If we are undefeated going into the UGA game and so is UGA then we get the night game.
