Is it just me or are Verne and Gary the absolute worst in the biz? I had to put the game on mute today after the half and watch the game with music playing on my stereo because these two were so horrible.

Verne gets player names wrong constantly, both guys talk over one another all the time and they continuously get the most basic of rules wrong.

Is there a crew that is, from a pure broadcast journalism standpoint, worse than these two? Honestly.

I actually think Gary has improved drastically over the years and has a great understanding of the game.

Verne on the other hand....dude is clueless.

I do not have an answer, Verne must own stock in CBS is all I know. The Praise for Ga. until the end was devastating, I am glad they left disappointed.

I couldn't agree more!!! It's not even the fact that they seem to hate us it's the fact they CONSTANTLY screw up names and plays it drives me nuts. If Tennessee isn't playing on CBS I will not watch a game those two call.

It's very difficult for them to praise Tennessee. The can both move to Florida and retire. It's like pulling teeth for Gary to talk positive about us. Time for a change!

How dare you get their names correct! I bet you also know the difference between sunrise and sunset. If not ask Corey Maggitt.

Verne has become somewhat of a laughing point and inspiration of many "inside jokes" between my friends and I. I mean really, he's that bad.

I may have been the only one, but did anyone watch the UGA/Bama game on CBS last week? There was one point where it was 2nd & 7 near midfield only halfway through the second quarter. UGA lines up in an I formation to just run another typical play and Verne JUST OUT OF NOWHERE STARTS YELLING WHILE CARRYING ON A NORMAL SENTENCE. I legitimately thought the man was having a stroke and was actually concerned for his health and safety.

But yeah, those guys are horrible.

Daneilson is actually pretty knowledgable and often has to correct Vernes mistakes

Verne is at least 5 years, maybe 10, past the time he should have hung it up (rolleyes)

Verne is a 75 year old drunk while Gary Danielson hasn't been very good since his stroke. Both of them cheer for Tennessee's opponents on every broadcast Tennessee is on CBS so I wish they would be replaced.

I don't know that they are the worst, but Meeves Raybin, Alvin Medley, Butch Davis, Jalen Hurns. Pretty bad.

So true. They are and have been brutal for years, yet keep the top college announcing gig and try to wreck an SEC game every week.

Lundquist is beyond senile, forgetting player names and constantly missing action on the field, beside his head looking like it's about to explode. Danielson was a joke of a QB who somehow has been elevated to this position where he thinks himself a sage who is in love with the sound of his own voice.

I hate when I see that the Vols are on at 3:30 because I know I have to be subjected to these two nitwits for 3+ hours. Maybe I'll try what a previous poster did and just shut the volume off.

Danielson misses a few rules but he's actually a really good analyst. Other than Blackledge, not sure who isn't better.

And he almost got thru an entiree game wuthout referncing Tebow!

Verne would say the ball is down on the 49 when it's on the 48 yard line. Ball is in the air for a fair catch at the 16 & Verne says it's at the 18.....stupid idiot. Be glad when both of these two loving Florida & Bama dolts are retired & gone.

When we won the game I wondered if they were even going to announce it. No real emotion or anything. Ah it appears the contest on this field is over, back to the studio. I wish there was a way to sync up radio and HDTV, Kesling is a good 5-7 seconds ahead of the TV. I remember in the before times we never listened to the announcers, always Ward calling the game on the radio.

How about today when Verne screamed "NO FLAGS!" at the top of his lungs on the Georgia punt return TD with a flag on the field. Danielson said almost apologetically, "uh, yes there is".

Just pathetic that they keep these two on.

Do the traditional thing and listen to the Vol Network while watch the game on tv.:)

they checked off all the boxes, Meves Rabin, Butch Davis and in the 4th quarter a Tebow reference. It almost reads like a script and there is very little good to say about the VOLS
