CBJ will never get us to the promised land

I did not expect us to beat Alabama this year, not with our injuries. However, not going for the 4th and a half yard in the third quarter shook my confidence in Jones. I know it's hard to say that one play/game can do that, but then he goes for a 4th and 7 once the game is out of reach with a back up qb. Really showed me a lot about him. I really hope he proves me wrong....

Jones is smart. He know that if Dobbs is injuried the season will be shot and severely hurts our chances of winning out. Alot of people crying and venting now, but after a 10-2 season and possible trip to Atlanta and things will be fine. Protect Dobbs man, simple as that. We have 5 more games we can still win.

The problem is he's not smart on the sideline and has no courage unless his back is against the wall.

Yep, thats it clearly, consistent improvment here and at his previous two spots.

And again ill ask, if Butch aint getting it done, how ya got? Or are you just like everyone else on here that complains about Butch but offers no realistic replacement that would guarantee more wins?

Gary Patterson, Lovie Smith ( he would come here ) for starters.

Smith might leave Illinois after a year or two, but we don't know if he's a good college coach or not yet. Plenty of good NFL coaches have failed to get it done at the college level. Between recruiting and having to babysit 85-100 18-22 year olds, it's a much different game than the NFL and arguably takes much more work year round than the NFL.

And Patterson isn't leaving TCU anytime soon. Thinking he'd jump from that program, which he's spent years building to be consistently competitive, to UT is just prideful ignorance.

I'm not sure Butch is the guy to get us back in top of the SEC. But with Sagan around, there aren't many coaches who can be that guy anyway. Unless this season totally implodes or we take massive steps back next year, I just can't see booting Butch yet.

We have a good shot at 10 wins this season, despite a laundry list of injuries. If we hit that benchmark, his teams will have improved every year since he got here. Talking about replacing him at this point is just plain dumb.

He is not the caliber of coach to win it all in the SEC. You only have to look at his hires to know we can never run with the big dogs in the SEC.

This has probably already been said but I'm not reading through the whole thread.....
I think I heard "CPF will never get us to the promised land" about 8,000 times after TN lost to FL yet again in Peyton's senior year.
If we can't beat FL now, we never will.
CPF is not good enough to beat FL.
CPF is not a big time coach.
We need to make a change now or we will be stuck always playing 2nd fiddle.
CPF will not make the hires necessary to compete with the big boys.
Time for a change.
Bla....Bla....Bla....

Luckily, the insanity was ignored; and it will be again.

This just in. Winning the East is nothing to be proud of.

The hell it ain't. A trip to Atlanta to play for the SEC Championship is not only something to be very proud of, it's the primary goal of the team every year and a job well done if they accomplish it.

Butch appears to be on track to do good things. Perhaps, not as quickly as some of the fans would like, but he's doing a great job with the turn around so far.

Did you miss his decision to kick the FG from the 1 foot line against OK?

Did you miss his decision to not go for 2, and the win, from the 1.5 yd line against A&M?

The list of questionable, and gutless, calls is a long one.
