Every team we face is a really really good football team...relative to us.

Butch Jones Press Conference 9/25

Butch's closer...

“Football is an emotional game, it’s a competitive game. The injury was caused not by a teammate, he landed on a helmet. And that’s the truth. We have to understand, what do we want out of our media? This place with the drama…again these are kids. We all have children. We’re all adults. Are we focused on Tennessee football, from a recruiting standpoint and all the positive things we’ve done? From all the positive things this football program brings to the community. This great fan base. Are we in the reality world of TV? I think all of us as human beings have to self check ourselves. You may not like that answer, but I’m a father. I have three boys. I think we sometimes have to put ourselves in the role of a parent as well. I understand you all have jobs to do. My expectation as the head football coach is I’m the caretaker of Tennessee football. I’m here to develop and grow a football program, recruiting the best possible student athletes to represent the University of Tennessee, and win football games and graduate our players. I take that very seriously. Also, I love our kids, and I’m going to protect our players and our program. And sometimes the negativity is overwhelming. And if everyone are Vol fans, how do we let our opponents us this in recruiting process with fake news? We have to check ourselves; what are we here for? What are the values and principles that guide our life every single day? I appreciate everyone in this room. You guys have a job to do, and I’m respectful of that. I’m friends with a lot of you guys in the room and I appreciate it. But also, there comes a certain time when enough is enough. So, thank you. You guys have a great day. I look forward to seeing you on Wednesday. Go Vols.”

Dormady has more picks than he does TDs.

6 touchdowns are less than 6 interceptions? Is there a conversion rate chart that interceptions caused by receivers dropping the ball that weighs more than plain interceptions?

My mind is totally blown right now at this.

Take a joke bro.

Either way, JG nor QD aren’t going to win us any games with Butch running the ship.

Not sure why you’re expecting some sort of miracle.

I’d rather lose scoring points and not taking a billion sacks than lose by not scoring points and giving up 10 sacks

Only SEC TD that QD scored was against a trash Florida team. JG has played SCar and Bama in the SEC.

This is one of the reasons Jones is a loser. He builds the opponent up into Goliath every week. It is as if he thinks his team has to play with the desperation of a prohibitive underdog every week... and then he throws in conservative gameplans.

LOL... UF is a "trash" team... but JG couldn't move the ball against one of the least talented D's in the SEC... and you use that to TRASH Dormady?

Remind us how many points UT has scored since JG became the starter... Remind us how many points UT has scored behind JG in what now amounts to about 3 full games worth of possessions.

The issue isn't the QB position. It wasn't and it isn't. It is the system. It is the player development over the past 5 years. It is the recruiting and retention failures. It is ultimately Butch Jones.... 100%.

Why do you continue to be compelled to trash Dormady? JG has NOT done as well and has been very protected by ridiculously conservative game plans. Basically... they don't trust him to do much more.

PS- I don't think this is really about supporting JG for most of you. It is about trying to prove that you weren't wrong when you argued that he should have started over Dormady from the beginning. But you were wrong... and that won't change even if JG has some sort of epiphany over the last 5 games and plays well. QD was ready... JG obviously wasn't.
