I've never been in a thread where there's so many people on my ignore list commenting at the same time. This is astounding.

Thank You! Posts such as yours remind me that many of our members have never been involved in team athletics and simply have no awareness of the realities of success on the athletic field. In no way am I intending to discredit your value as a fan but truthfully I needed to be reminded of the level of involvement of many of our members.

I played football and baseball in high school. the coaches need to take responsibility sometimes. especially when getting paid 3 plus million. he gets paid to win not to tell effing fans to be patient. come on man. never have liked coaches that make excuses and jones is starting to sound like dooley. please give me 10 years i'll get it turned around.lol

No, I was referring to a group of posters collectively in which evidence would suggest you seem to agree with.

Now please inform us on the what you referred to as clearly the method in which Coach Jones should use the players.

I don't think I recall anyone saying 10 years unless it was it was a derogatory, inflammatory remark by someone seeking to see Coach Jones fail.

So you don't see the progress being made?

I see progress in talent level.

The playcalling and gameplanning has zero progress.

When Hurd went out, they couldn't figure out how to run. When Worley went out, they couldn't move the ball.

It is apparent that Butch needs superior talent to be able to succeed.

Florida brings in a back up qb and promptly beats UT.

If the roles were reversed, UT would fold.

Progress off the field. Progress in the class. Progress on recruiting.

Gameday- not much progress

This is the funniest response yet. I got my "troll" and "negavol" label while pointing out the obvious shortcomings of the worst coach in UT history.(Dooley)

I and many others were way more hostile toward Dooley.

But you guys just love to forget facts and love to deal in promises and rainbows.

Prove me wrong about CBJ.

I'm waiting, impatiently.

Be patient. The longer you guys stay quiet, the more checks I can cash before everyone realizes I am not a good coach.

Hey check out my recruiting.

Nevermind Vanderbilt and Florida embarrassments, just get my offense properly described in the media.

Brick by brick

Slogan by Sloan

Loss by loss.

The new Tennessee way.

You forgot to mention that no other school in the country is starting two freshmen O linemen.

If you think he and Bajakian are gameplanning properly, there is nothing I can do for you.

I get it. You'll never agree with me. I'm okay with that. But trying to ask me to coach and put me on the spot is not gonna make coach Jones be better on gameday.

The results on the field support what I say, regardless of how I say it.

My question to you is, do you think the players are being used properly?

You guys get conveniently dumb when trying to argue for cbj.

Sorry to be the devil's advocate guys but if Wylo said something that has been proven wrong please correct him. If nothing he said has been proven wrong, I have no reason to dispute him.

The burden is on Butch to prove he is a good coach at this point. No more talk. No more moral victories. Stop losing games you should win, and teach your football team how to avoid turning certain victory into defeat. Your offense sucks, do better.

This is a big boy job, and it takes a big boy coach to do it.

A-freakin-MEN !!!! My thoughts exactly !!!

this is the way I feel. I see improvement on the defense. tackling is light years from where it was last year and should only get better with better players being brought in. On offense is where I have the big problem. play calling sucks. OC should be canned after this year. jones doesn't seem to get this. he should have got a QB last year. Worley is average at best and I understand the line is young, but damn Worley couldn't read a blitz if it was on video. to me this tells me we will have problems next year as jones believes that dobbs is no better than Worley so we have no other QB's. for jones to be telling the fan base to be patient is just stupid. we have been patient. he was paid to make us forget about dooley and with people comparing the 2 that tells me he isn't getting it done. will he get it done, i'll say 50 50 and pickem. do I like him. recruiting great, needs a lot of work as a gameday coach. what is bad for us, that is where we need him to win games. for his press conferences I don't watch them he reminds me of dooley with all the excuses and I can't handle that.

From a development standpoint, if the talent level is there and I believe that it is, yes the only way to learn to play at the level we are talking about it is to experience it and sometimes it is not pleasant to watch if all you can see is an immediate W or L. It doesn't work that way, sorry.

As far as putting you on the spot you posted, "but it's becoming clear that Butch well not use them properly." So I am simply asking you to tell us what you think is the proper way for "Butch" to use them?

We had the best season running the ball in a decade with average RBs. The difference in Lane last year and Lane this year is really just sad. Last year he was patient and a hole eventually opened up, this year he waits for the hole and he just gets swallowed up. I would kill to see Hurd behind last years line.

Lane has been nicked up with shoulder and ankle injuries most of the season and had his hand in a cast in Spring practice.

Easier to blame the players and throw them under the bus than it is to expect the coaches to cobble together an offensive line that can actually open some running lanes though.

I am not sure what holes you are seeing because they aren't there.

Worley doesn't need to read a Blitz because he KNOWS its coming every single play. If he does as many seem to want and throws on his second step back off his back foot then you will see interceptions every other possession. You say you played high school football, so let me ask you, hypothetically if I, now a an old decrepit D lineman, was given the opportunity to Blitz on you the QB backpedaling into your pocket and I have clear unchallenged line to you, how often will you be able to throw an accurate pass knowing than when you plant your foot at step 2, I fully intend to impact you center mass at full speed on step 3?

My problem is that if we complete 1 more pass and kick a FG to win, the narrative is completely different and Butch Jones can coach. I just don't but that we're that far off.

South Carolina comes to mind....I guess that game doesnt count anymore.

I said "almost"

And you neglect to mention the fluke one handed catch.

UT earned the win, but stop acting like they ran away with it.

I give you SC, but that's the only one that you can point to.

Then it should be very easy for you to clearly inform us how Coach Jones should properly use them, correct?

I said it's becoming clear. It's becoming apparent. He's showing that.

I think calling the plays for our shortest wr instead of the tall ones are a waste.

The constant slow developing run plays are a waste.

The lack of the qb actually keeping the ball is a waste.

The delay on first down often is a waste.

So maybe the proper response I should have had was it's becoming apparent that CBJ is not capable of putting together a gameplan to win in the SEC.
