CBJ to Vol Fans

This is the funniest response yet. I got my "troll" and "negavol" label while pointing out the obvious shortcomings of the worst coach in UT history.(Dooley)

I and many others were way more hostile toward Dooley.

But you guys just love to forget facts and love to deal in promises and rainbows.

Prove me wrong about CBJ.

I'm waiting.

CBJ will make you look foolish. Oh, you keep waiting..... this won't take long.

I said it's becoming clear. It's becoming apparent. He's showing that.

I think calling the plays for our shortest wr instead of the tall ones are a waste.

The constant slow developing run plays are a waste especially when the OL can't block.

The lack of the qb actually keeping the ball is a waste.

The delay on first down often is a waste.

So maybe the proper response I should have had was it's becoming apparent that CBJ is not capable of putting together a gameplan to win in the SEC.

I hate to say it but I have to agree on this. We have 3 WR that are 6'3 and we don't throw the ball up to them. Why?
The Florida game was a game that was very winnable. Toss in the Vandy game from last year, maybe and you can see the coaches played not to lose and lost. Majors did this a lot. Fulmer did it too.
The both Georgia games showed that these coaches can coach. The SC win was the shining point of these guys. It WAS a signature win over a ranked team!
Dooley couldn't get that done! In fact the team looked horribly under prepared in most games and he lost to Kentucky and Vanderbilt. I hated watching Tennessee football under Dooley as I knew that they would lose big. I enjoy watching this team. We've seen a team that fights hard for 4 quarters not a team that gives up in the 3rd when a team scores and goes ahead.

Well played.

But next time try to say it the way you mean it.

Like this: Actually, YOU don't need a parachute.

Maybe then it'll read the way YOU intended it.

Sorry coach! I'll work on my grammar if you will work on relaxing. Your are going to have a heart attack and the Vols will have one less person in Neyland cheering for them on Saturday. GBO!

... CBJ has won everywhere he has been! Give him some friggin time to get HIS team in order before you start your pathetic whining! The only possible coaching change in UT's near future is at OC, so hate it or love it but please shut up!

PS: I can't believe you got 16 likes on that garbage ass post!

That's two of us, TennMan

CBJ has won when following Brian Kelly. That means if he coaches Notre Dame next, they should be pretty good.

He isn't winning here. He still could, but the jury is way out on that.

And my garbage post makes more sense than the junk half you sheep post on a daily basis.

Weeelll, aren't you the self-annointed one. Excuuuuse me, God. I didn't recognize you in your tank top. Dip.

The only problem I have with this logic is this. The shortest receiver seems to be the only one that is actually catching the ball. It doesn't matter if they are 8 feet tall and run a 3.5 40 if they grow stone hands during a game. (See the movie "Necessary Roughness" for reference)

QB has to have the time to throw anywhere.

I said "almost"

And you neglect to mention the fluke one handed catch.

UT earned the win, but stop acting like they ran away with it.

I give you SC, but that's the only one that you can point to.

Close wins are flukes but close losses are bad coaching. Got it.

Uh Oh. Me thinks the big Kahuna grows tired of the silliness that has overtaken this board.

Where was the "talent factor/differential" when UT was up 9-0 through 3 quarters and thoroughly controlling the game? The game was being won by the defense and only a boneheaded mistake(s) which gave Florida a short field was gonna get em back in it imo.

It's all hindsight 20/20 type stuff, but Doug Mathews, who is a great supporter and proponent of Jones and his staff, pointed this out on Sunday..... he questioned why Jones/Bajakian called any sort of long developing play, such as the strip sack play of Worley deep in UT territory, late in the game, when given how our defense was playing, we really should've only been doing everything we could do to protect the lead and limit potential mistakes. That didn't happen.

Additionally, why throw the deep seam route, ON FIRST DOWN, into double (bracketed) coverage to Pig WITH ONE MINUTE LEFT in the game..... when all we needed was 18-20 more yards to get into game-winning field goal position and we had plenty of time and downs to get there?

IMHO, Jones and company get high marks for getting the team a two possession lead through 3 qtrs with a less talented team, they really do. However, the game was infinitely winnable vs a deeply flawed team that was on the verge of conceding the loss..... until a couple of poor game management calls by Jones/Bajakian gave them life late, and they took full advantage of it.
See my post in the Austin Sanders thread.Good coaches but poor game managers.

you left out "Work like heck"

"it's a process"

"we're like the Germans"

"we're going to sing rocky top all night long when we beat florida, mark my word"

"not worried about the legions of the miserable"

"Give him six, Touchdown Tennessee"

"Don't give a damn about the whole state of Alabama, we're from Tennessee"

"Fire Mark Richt"

oh, that last one is mine.. but otherwise, remember all of those? yep good times. It's SLOGAN CITY BABY..

Sorry to be the devil's advocate guys but if Wylo said something that has been proven wrong please correct him. If nothing he said has been proven wrong, I have no reason to dispute him. The burden is on Butch to prove he is a good coach at this point. No more talk. No more moral victories. Stop losing games you should win, and teach your football team how to avoid turning certain victory into defeat. Your offense sucks, do better. This is a big boy job, and it takes a big boy coach to do it.
What dopes? I believe the last game is the only game that Butch Jones has lost that the Vols were favored in by a couple of points. If these losers can't see the progress this team is making just pity them. They are clueless!

Close wins are flukes but close losses are bad coaching. Got it.

A close win. One. Singular. That's a fluke. And the deciding play was a fluke. The catch was purely magic. I'll never forget it, but it was magic.

The losses have piled up.

Florida last year, Georgia last year, Vanderbilt last year, Florida this year.

You may be the boss, but that doesn't make you always right.

What, pushing a few buttons and installing some software doesn't automatically make me always right? You sure? :)

I'm far from always right. Just trying to understand your logic.

Georgia last year? Pig's fumble wasn't a fluke? I know you're enjoying this whole negative thing, and that's fine, but you're trying too hard.

Just got my tickets to the Kentucky game!! This is going to end up being the most important game of the season imo. Who woulda thunk it? Go Vols!!!

Wylo, all I'm getting at is this: Butch lost a couple games he probably should have won. There's no excuse for losing to Vandy ever under any circumstances, and we should have beaten Florida, although I'll still debate that they are more talented than we are. He beat a ranked team last year in South Carolina--which was no more of a fluke than things that occurred to cause some of those losses--so he's down one. I just don't see that as a reason to go full DEFCON 1 just yet. That's all.

Not a bad idea!

Actually they do need a stats guy in the press box. The stats guy would tell them on almost every fourth down play to go for it. The risk of turning it over on downs is less than being scored upon on the ensuing drive after a punt, almost regardless of field position.

The stats guy would tell them to kneel in the end zone instead of running it out on kickoffs. The risk of getting less than 25 or fumbling the ball is much greater than the reward that you run it out past the 25 or the extremely unlikely chance that you run it back for a touchdown.

A good statistician would also tell you that going for it on 4th down statistics are skewed to ppl who go for it on a 4th and short or against a prevent defense, not your average 4th and 10 on your own 30. Misleading statistics.

The kickoff thing is true, i just wish we would always down it!

We've been patient long enough

Even though I expected 6-6, losing games like this hurts

it's time to move on.i hated the way we lost but when you have 24 freshman playing at different times during a game that happens.we knew it would be a tough year.hopefully the o-line will improve more and more as the season goes on.they have to.

I don't think I recall anyone saying 10 years unless it was it was a derogatory, inflammatory remark by someone seeking to see Coach Jones fail.

Nobody wants to see him fail

Y'all sound like a woman that asks about how she looks in the dress, and when you tell her you don't like it, she starts yelling "you don't love me"

i agree freak.people on here are ready to do to butch as tide fans did to bill curry.

Be patient. The longer you guys stay quiet, the more checks I can cash before everyone realizes I am not a good coach.

Hey check out my recruiting.

Nevermind Vanderbilt and Florida embarrassments, just get my offense properly described in the media.

Brick by brick

Slogan by Slogan

Loss by loss.

The new Tennessee way.

Spoken by a TRUE VOL FAN, go root for bama and little nick.:the_finger:

That's because the correct answer is, "you look better out of the dress than in it". Then you wink and grin in a devilish manner.
