Fellow Vol fans....Butch Jones wants it.

When he got home from school Monday, Stanton Truitt (Monroe, Ga./Monroe Area) was told by his father to go check the mailbox.

"When I went to open it, it would not budge," Truitt said. "I pulled it down, and then some of the letters were hanging out, but they were all tied together by a rubber band.

I was thinking there was no way these came from the same school. But I kept pulling on them and I thought the mailbox was going to break, but when I got them out I found out that all 102 of them were from Tennessee! It was crazy."

"The Tennessee staff had been telling me that everything we do, we are always going to do it plus-two," Truitt said. "Every play you run, you want to get plus-two yards, take an extra two yards with the end zone. Everything you do, do it plus-two. That is why they sent me 102 letters."

The two comments on the article are so full of sour grapes that it's not even funny.

Butch seems to be bringing out all the stops.

We said he would "start" whenever he wanted to play?

I think he means we would allow to try to play any position he wanted at first. If he cuts it, leave him there. If we have a need at another position, move him. I doubt we promised a starting role first thing

Not a fan of offering starting jobs to high school kids before they have even practiced with the team...or committed. Anybody think its weird that UGA hasn't offered?

I believe he was talking about what position he wants to play. I'm sure CBJ will give him a chance at what position he chooses but he's got to prove himself just like everyone else.

This Butch Jones guy seems like he might actually know what he's doing. Nice change of pace from the limp Doodle Noodle.

Truitt said that the letters were inspirational, and each letter would say something different like "Stanton we love you," or "VolNation."

I think we oughta go ahead and take that as a shout-out.

Wow. This could be slightly obnoxious, but completely mind blowing at the same time if I am that recruit. Even if I am annoyed by it, I would have to be completely flattered by the gesture.

You would at least have no shortage of wipe yo azz material for weeks. I like the move.
