In fairness, that number is a little inflated right now because of the number of commits we have. It still can turn out to be a great class though. It's only November.

I'm not a huge Strong fan. But he won a lot of games at Louisville and left with two conference titles. He improved the team every year and beat both Florida and Miami in bowl games.

His resume is 10x better than the names I've seen people suggest should replace Butch.

Exactly.. And some people said I don't follow recruit, I say some don't see the real picture and only see the number we are ranked at..

If he stops getting all three stars, and gets 4 and 5 star guys. Call me a star gazer all you want, but they are that for a reason, ask Bama.

So he should be on the hotlist, to be fired, because he could have a great class by signing day, but it's just November so, By January you would take him off of it because he didn't deserve to be there in the first place....

See how this class finishes out, if it's subpar which I think it will be, then he should start next season on the hot seat..

We do have a lot of recruits but we also have 9 4 stars. No one outside of the top 10 has more than 9. We are sitting just as good as anyone else. Also they only take into account the top 20 recruits

No one outside the top 10 has more 4 stars than us. Please stop trying to make that argument

I said "a little inflated" and I think it is. There are a handful of teams that would probably pass us if our class ended as it is today. If you sort by average star ranking, Tennessee is 21st right now.

Look, I'm not trying to run down the recruiting class. There's time and Butch has proven he can close strong. I have a feeling we get a boost soon with Trey Smith.

Bearcats going down the tubes. Kelly number 2 on the hot seat, and Butch is in the SEC playing Alabama (and usually another play off team) and doing fine.

I am use to it and I do not think he will be fired either nor did I say I want him fired . If he Loses to Vandy it will start to warm just the obvious point of view .

I completely get what you are saying. But who would you rather be if the classes ended today?

USC - AVG 3.5 - 9 4 stars - 6 3 stars
Tennessee - AVG 3.31 - 9 4 stars - 16 3 stars

Would you not rather have the 9 4 star players and also the 16 3 star players? I would take all 16 3 stars and chances are some of them will be as good or better than the 4 stars.

The only reason that the large amount of 3 stars is an issue is if we run out of room. Either way I don't think Butch is going to be turning down 4 stars if they want to come to UT. We will make room

Regardless, Butch is not on the hot seat due to recruiting. Just tired of people like aredfox28 repeating everything they heard their uncle yell at the TV last weekend without taking the time to check the accuracy

The class doesn't end today though. That's the point. And I have no idea how many spots USC has to fill. It sounds like your saying our class is better because we have more commits. That's more a function of available scholarship than recruiting prowess.

We're on the same side. And I agree with your basic premise that our recruiting isn't as bad as some try to make it out to be. And like I mentioned we still have time to finish with a bang.

The entire missed point before we went off track is that Butch is not on the hot seat for recruiting and I thing we both agree on that
