CBJ allegedly tells Drae Bowles he 'betrayed the team'

I'm still amazed that nobody has been convicted of anything (yet).

This seems to just be getting worse.

Vol Nation in epic meltdown mode. And rightly so, like a dog that's been beaten too much.
!

Too much? How about at all?

I would change it all but I don't think I'm allowed at this point. Doesn't seem to take affect.

Doesn't matter. I'm a married old guy. I'm just glad I don't have to deal with the tinder generation.

You said it! I'm 25 and a married college student...I'm so glad I don't mess and deal with all that sh!t.

Clay Travis is trying get Marlon Walls on his show. It will be on periscope 3:00

Clay Travis has ripped the media, namely ESPN. Clay is the most knowledgable. I've always gone to him on legal issues like this, not the idiotic people at ESPN that can only form an opinion on sports.

I know everyone here seems to hate Clay Travis because "he done went to Vanderbilt derp derp!", but he's going to be the best source to follow on all of this.

Basically and no one fact checks crap anymore, you'd think they'd have learned their lesson after that UVA article blew up.

There's really nothing to limit civil suits other than the costs and possibility of a countersuit for harassment.

No, but if I were a victim, the last thing I would care about would be money. I would want justice. Who refuses to press charges in an already weird situation just to immediately join an ongoing lawsuit? There may be a real victim somewhere in all this mess. But in this case, you can't see a tree for the forest.

Clay Travis has went out his way to call Butch Jones out when he makes idiotic decisions on the field. The fact that he is defending Jones and the program makes me think that Jones did nothing wrong.

I think there are some legitimate issues lost in the crap pile. I don't think this is just an issue with Tennessee though.

Clay Travis said that his sources say that Tennessee had an opportunity to settle the lawsuit but declined because they feel they have done nothing wrong and have the evidence to prove it.

He has a law degree, unlike most mainstream journalists. He can talk in depth about the legal issues in sports.

I have no idea what the laws or procedures are, but if at any point it is possible that the accusers names are required to be made public, this will end the day before that day comes. They probably know that as well. Either way it will end before that happens.

Exactly, you only do that after trying to go to court and if not enough evidence to support (assuming true crime was committed btw) use civil to punish by taking from wallet.

That's too bad. Regardless of what happens, innocent or guilty, UT's name and reputation has been tarnished by this for a long time. Really wish they had settled without going through the grinder like we are nationally right now..

This is getting stupid..I tell you one thing Im not going to laugh or bash at another college when I hear media stories.... Every fan base says the same thing when their college(Florida, Miami, Ole Miss, USC, Penn State) gets bashed by the media.. Now we are on the other side and it sucks

Entirely possible that bowles lashed out at ut and the head coach because of frustration with the way his whole college experience went. Also possible that Jones did say something stupid to bowles in a moment of stress and frustration. What I believe is pretty irrelevant just like anyone else's opinions are irrelevant. What can be proven is relevant. What can be proven is bowles' statement changed from his first statement to the story he is now giving. Jones maybe entirely in the wrong but I don't think it can be proven and I think his statement carries more weight than that of bowles.

I liked your post, and agree with it mostly. I do want to say though, that don't we hope first that Butch didn't say anything, but second, if he DID say something, I hope he's man enough to admit it and let the chips fall where they may. I know we all keep saying "can it be proven", and maybe this is just the lawyer in me, but I honestly hope it doesn't come to that. If he did it, I hope he admits it and we can all chalk it up to being stupid for a moment.
