CBJ allegedly tells Drae Bowles he 'betrayed the team'

Not being about to figure out when to call timeouts or go for two is one thing, improperly handling rape accusations sets off a much greater alarm. This guy needs to go, quick!
So you believe one side, and not the other? You also enjoyed the King article also I suppose..

You need to learn the meaning of the word " IF there bud.

I didn't say Jones said it or didn't say it.

Unlike you, I am reserving judgement on the entire matter. You've already convinced yourself everyone is a liar and all will come out well for the UTAD apparently.

And you completely ignored the main point of my post which was Hart.

Anyone who thinks he makes it through this unscathed after the school has already settled over a million dollars in suits on his watch before this latest mess broke is beyond naive.

I don't really care if Hart stays or leaves. On the other matter, yes I do believe all involved in this lawsuit is a liar. I guess we will just have to let it play out to prove I'm right and you're wrong. I'm no worried.

Im just sayin if all this is true, we dont know what pressure he was under to say what... in the first statement and the second statement...This could turn out worst for us...there is already record of Bowles being threatened...you know he is gonna say his first staetment was forced...I could see it now...liberals not gonna let this one go

If I remember correctly didn't it come out at the time that jones did say that to him. That is why he got jumped in the locker room and then left the team. I believe it was told on this board. I could be wrong but I heard the same thing somewhere

No and no. No one has ever made that claim on this board. Stop trying to stir further $#!t up.

The problem is that this part is something he had no reason to lie or change his story about.

This is making me sick to my stomach. There is absolutely no coincidence between the original allegation of sexual assault against UT and now ALL these individuals stepping forward to claim their stake! It's like a distant relative that wins the lottery and suddenly all his long lost cousins whom they haven't spoken to in years show up on their doorstep. I'm not downplaying the fact that sexual assault is a heinous crime, but the timing is impeccable right now.

1st statement was made to a reporter

2nd is a sworn court document

But you can bet both will surface during any trial that is held as a reflection on the credibility of the person in question. People who don't tell the truth tend to lose track of what they have said to whom over time and contradict themselves. If you tell the truth, only thing that will be added is more details - not details that contradict something already said.

In the end, he becomes a liability for the plaintiffs.

Doesn't matter. He will be destroyed on cross-examination.

The only difference between a sworn statement and an unsworn statement is that there are no legal ramifications for lying to the press. It still undermines your credibility, though.

Right. At this point, Bowles does not look credible. Chris Low's tweet about Bowles telling UT judicial affairs that Butch handled the situation properly is also gonna be brought to light if true.

Didn't destroy Auburn because of Cam's dad's payoff

Didn't destroy FSU when Winston was accused of rape and lifting crab legs

If anything this circles the wagons and makes a team determined.

And every Pitino/Louisville scandal has faded away in a few weeks. Heck, nothing worse than the sex for hire thing and it's now a non-event to the press. Lay low, people. Do something else for a while other than watch sports talk or hang out here. When you come back something else will be in the headlines.

If this was being reported about another school, people on here would be running with it saying it's all true. Especially if it was an sec school.

So...you believe Bowles' statement to join in a lawsuit rather than the 2 statements he gave at the time of the incident?

What kills me is that any reasonable person would want to know the context of a statement like that, assuming it was actually said in the first place. I can think of several ways it could have been said where it was not some sort of condemnation from Butch Jones.

D.B.: "Why are some of the guys mad at me, Coach?"
B.J.: "They see you as a traitor to the team. Don't worry though, we're going to straighten this thing out and get back on track."

That's one of at least a dozen scenarios where there was no malice from Jones in that statement.

This all day long. If, and I mean a big if, Butch ever used the word traitor around Bowles this is exactly how I believe the conversation would've went down.

Actually not true. After the FSU ordeal, I wondered if lawsuits would quickly become the norm. We are all going to face a bleak future if so. I decided then that if another popped up I would wait on the facts no matter the school.

Our rivals dancing with glee on twitter right now, not so much next year when it's them. Unless there is an intervention now, this will spread like a nasty virus.
