This dates back to when Dobbs officially took over as QB for Tennessee. Interesting that Tenn, Fla, & UGA are 2/3/4 respectively.

Things are only going to get better.

If you're only going to include the games since Dobbs took over, how do the numbers suggest that "things are only going to get better" now that Dobbs is gone?

9 loses 2 of them to our biggest rival including a record setting beat down Tennessee received..... 2 blown lead losses to Oklahoma and Florida.... loss to scar with the east on the line... loss to mizzou with a chance to win the east... loss to vandy with a shot to go to the sugar bowl

Please explain the logic in this? And all this list does for me is highlight how terrible the SEC is now.

"since Dobbs took over" was more of an auxiliary statement (although we'll miss him). Things were picking up, as a whole, it seemed.

Looking at things from a holistic standpoint, I think things can (and will) get better from here. I know QB is a huge part of that, but it's not a reach to think one of our two newcomers can pull out 9-3 or better, IMO.

Nice stats there. Gives some perspective on things.

One thing that I would point out is that the "Dobbs takeover" occurred at the same time as UT's usual "easy 2nd half schedule". Therefore, the stats have the benefit of three 2nd halves of the season and only two 1st halves. That helps matters in the stat department a little.

Things picked up BECAUSE OF HIM. A football player with the mental aptitude of an aeronautical engineer and exceptional athletic ability. That's not something thats easily replaced, and to top that off most of his progression in the passing game was due to him going out and working with specialists as opposed to being coached up. Despite that he still had bad habits, bad habits that the two fighting for that position will have and won't have the tape to help them get rid of those habits. I expect their learning curve to be quite steep.

"Since I promoted Jim to head of sales, our numbers have drastically improved. Now that Jim has left the company, my projections show that sales will skyrocket."

Too many variables/unknowns here. Perhaps Jim recruited well during his tenure. Maybe, through the fantastic efforts of the marketing department, new and better accounts can be acquired. Could someone better than Jim be waiting in the wings? If a new leader is hired, albeit not as great as Jim but still strong, can the team that Jim built continue improving sales? Any changes within the industry that will benefit the organization? Any company-wide changes that may positively affect morale? Budget increases for the new guy?

How could Alabama have played 8 more games than lsu in the same time period?

Well let's see. Alabama has played in the seccg all three years. They've also made it to the playoff all three years. And LSU lost a game when they cancelled their game with the South central Louisiana school for the deaf to make up the Florida game.
