He's talking about Hurd and Preston Williams. 5* players with a 1* heart. Butch wants players who'll work hard to improve this team instead of quitting when they don't get their way. It's not that much of a big deal like some posters are bringing it out be. Literally nothing to see here.

Right...

Spin cycle.

He takes it too far. All he has to say is "we got a solid class of players we feel best fit our program and we're going to work extremely hard to develop them to win football games." That's ALL he has to say but he just wont shut up! The guy can't help himself.

i know i agree...

Why would Nick Saban care? They guy literally told people to calm down because its not going to be that easy to run the ball when they play a good team, after the Tennessee game.

Nick rarely allows his coaches to speak to the media...Its kinda like when people say "Mark Richt has lost control of ..."

Lol...at some point you're going to have to admit a lot of stupid things come out of his mouth.

And newsflash, it's not the posters here destroying him over it.

Dude, I don't like Butch's coaching anymore than you do but literally he just wants the best players who'll compete and try to make this team better. Not just some diva freshman who thinks he should automatically be named the starter at a certain position. Butch has said a lot of dumb things but this doesn't bother me. I don't really care what the media has to say cause they always like to stir things up.

At what point does a 3-star talent with a 5-star heart beat out a 5-star talent with 1-star heart? There must some mathematical model the organization is using to ID the best Vol talent.

I actually prefer the 5-star talent with a 5-star heart. Maybe T. Smith is one of those in this class.

Honest Question to all you CBJ supporters, i notice that CBJ seems to try and oversell his accomplishments. Everytime he is in front of a mic he mentions first time since..., 3 straight bowls since...., and on and on and comes up with stupid sayings like this one and calling his recruits OKGs ( seriously, how comes up with an acronym for our kind of guy). Am i wrong in this or am i right and its just not concerning to anyone?

Let's say you are right. His statement sounds dumb worded that way. Better off saying nothing at all.

So embarrassing... How can you win championships with philosophies like "life champions" and "5 star hearts?"

I want Jones to succeed....but....REALLY!?!?

The media didn't do sh**. He said it TO the media, they repeated exactly what he said, and he said it twice.

He just words it so poorly.
When Hurd ditched us and Kelly started busting through the holes, I said "Give me the kid that wants it,everytime".
Not only was I not bashed, most everyone agreed.

Shakespeare, he is not.

Speaking of cheese, your coach brush his teeth yet?

I don't think brushing is the problem, I think he needs some porcelain veneers or something. Brushing won't fix what he's got going on. He makes millions, he should do something, in my opinion.

But I don't think his unfortunate grill is enough to can him, especially with back-to-back SECe titles. However, if Mac ever starts sounding like a Junior High Guidance Counselor, with the cornball quotes and cheesy gimmicks, he and his teeth will have to go!

His point isn't dumb at all. Maybe it was the way he said it idk. Basically he could just have said that he wants true competitors who'll work hard and make a difference on this team. His coach speak is what makes it sound dumb to the media but I get the guy's point.

It's kinda dumb

Just admit that it's irrelevant, it's ok.

Media everywhere catches onto this stuff and slams him for it, its not irrelevant. I dont know how much it effects us but ill say this. The "negative " posters in here get blamed for everything and seem to have a huge effect. If that is so, its only reasonable that national media has a larger effect. Having your coach constantly be the butt of jokes on his own accord, coupled with losing games to bad teams, cant be good.
